Treo 700p

Feature-Filled PDA and Mobile Phone

High-speed data transfers. Cool multimedia apps. Great design ; Not the most comfortable keyboard for typing. Lacks built-in instant-messaging. Expensive

Not the most comfortable keyboard for typing. Lacks built-in instant-messaging. Expensive

If you're looking for a Mac-compatible PDA phone that does equal justice to data and chitchat, you can't do better than the 700p. If you already own a 650, it may be hard to justify the purchase price unless the higher speeds and interactive content...

Palm Pixi Plus (AT&T)

Inexpensive ; Slim, pocketable design

AT&T coverage can be spotty ; Keyboard feels too cramped

Palm's sprightly Pixi Plus is a good, inexpensive addition to AT&T's assortment of smartphones, but some users might have trouble with the tiny, cramped keyboard.

Palm Pixi Plus (AT&T) Review

The Palm Pixi Plus isn't exactly new, but its launch on AT&T this coming Sunday will mark the debut of the GSM version in the US market. Priced at a featurephone-rivalling $49.99 (with a new agreement, naturally), the obvious question is whether you're...

Viewed in those terms, it’s hard not to see why Palm has made some of the decisions they have with the Pixi Plus. It still adds up to a device that’s frustrating in certain ways for established smartphone consumers, but is also likely the best way...

Palm Pixi Plus (black, AT&T)

The Palm Pixi Plus finally joins its bigger, more powerful sibling, the Palm Pre Plus, at AT&T on June 6. Much like Verizon's variant, the petite device isn't a powerhouse, but it has a nice set of features and reasonable price of $49.99 with a...

For a compact, entry-level smartphone, the Palm Pixi Plus offers a good number of features including Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, and GPS, as well as the benefits that come from running Palm WebOS. The Pixi Plus' camera now can record video and easily edit...

The Pixi Plus can be sluggish. The phone has a smaller display and keyboard. AT&T doesn't offer the Palm Mobile Hotspot utility

The Palm Pixi Plus isn't fancy or powerful, but it offers first-time smartphone buyers a nice range of features and ease of use at an affordable price.

Palm Pixi Plus

What the Honda Civic is to the Accord, the Pixi Plus is to the Pre Plus. While not entirely hobbled, the Pixi flutters in the shadow of the Pre with a smaller screen, a slower processor, and a lower-resolution camera, but balances the handicaps with a...

Low $80 price tag ; Superb QWERTY keyboard ; One of the most pocket-friendly smartphones to date ; Slick, multi-tasking-friendly WebOS interface ; Speedy 3G connectivity on Verizon ; Optional Touchstone charger and designer backs

WebOS feels somewhat unresponsive, really chugs at times ; Screen can feel cramped ; App Catalog still lags behind competitors (but by less than before) ; Unimpressive camera ; Slightly less intuitive than iPhone

The watered down hardware in the Pixi Plus makes it a poor choice beside the far more potent Pre Plus waiting just $70 up the price scale, but its killer design will still find adoring fans.

Palm Pixi Plus

Palm adds Wi-Fi and a convenient hotspot app to its messaging-friendly smart phone, but the Pre Plus is a better value.

Not much has changed from the Pixi to the Pixi Plus, but the addition of Wi-Fi and the Palm mobile hotspot app make this a solid sub-$100 smart phone. In this price range we prefer the HTC Droid Eris because of its larger 3.2-inch display and much...

Palm Pixi Plus (Verizon Wireless)

Announced alongside the Palm Pre Plus at CES 2010, the Palm Pixi Plus will be making its way to Verizon shelves on January 25. Like its Sprint counterpart, the Pixi Plus is aimed at those ready to make the jump from a feature phone to a smartphone and...

The Palm Pixi Plus brings the addition of Wi-Fi and the capability to use the smartphone as a mobile hot spot. The sleek handset also offers Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS. The multitasking features of Palm WebOS continues to be one of the highlights.

The smartphone can be sluggish. The camera lacks editing options, and picture quality is pretty poor. No expansion slot.

While not a major overhaul, the Palm Pixi Plus adds built-in Wi-Fi and gives customers making the jump from a feature phone to a smartphone even more functionality without breaking the bank.

Palm Pixi Plus (Verizon)

The "Plus" in the Palm Pixi Plus ($100 with a two-year contract from Verizon; price as of 1/20/10) really means one thing: the addition of Wi-Fi connectivity. Other than that, the phone is identical in specs and design to its predecessor. While the...

Now with Wi-Fi connectivity ; Cute, pocketable design

Keyboard is too small ; WebOS sometimes lags during navigation

Palm’s sprightly Pixi Plus gets a speed boost with Wi-Fi connectivity and Verizon's fast 3G network.

Palm Pre Plus (and Pixi Plus) review

It's been about a year since Palm pulled itself back from the brink of imminent destruction with the announcement of webOS and the Palm Pre, and even less

Great hardware keyboard ; Sleek form factor ; Relatively affordable

Sluggish CPU ; Not compatible with all webOS software ; Not enough differentiation from Pre Plus

Palm Pixi (Sprint)

It might seem natural to mock the Palm Pixi's name, but it's actually brilliant. This cute, little smartphone isn't going up against high-end phones like the Motorola Droid and the iPhone 3GS. Rather, it could replace cheaper texting phones in the...

Fun interface. Cute design. Usable keyboard. Many more features than texting phones have

Struggles with multitasking and video playback. Thin app catalog. Only for people with sharp eyes and small fingers

The Palm Pixi, like the Palm Centro and BlackBerry Pearl before it, is a perfect entry-level smartphone for heavy texters who hadn't considered a smartphone before.
