Palm Treo 700wx

This upgrade to the already-impressive Treo 700w adds some worthy improvements under the hood.

Includes a fantastic music player, Camera takes impressive shots

Talk-time battery life is poor, Keys are stiff and too close together

Palm Treo 700WX Smartphone - Sprint (CDMA, Bluetooth, 1.3MP, 128MB, SDIO/MMC/SD)

In late 2006, Palm's Treo 700w received a quiet upgrade to the 700wx, which has the same design and runs the same OS but contains enhancements under the hood. Most notable is the RAM upgrade: With 48MB after a hard reset, the 700wx (available on the...

The 700wx is physically identical to the already-impressive Treo 700w, but adds some worthy upgrades under the hood.

Palm Treo 700wx

Sprint launches its version of the Windows Mobile Treo with upgraded memory, but some nagging issues remain.

Can use as an EV-DO laptop modem • Finally has enough RAM • Built-in push e-mail (enterprise only) • Calls sound clear

Relatively low-res screen • Windows Mobile OS not as intuitive as Palm

Palm Treo 700wx (black, Sprint)

From a design standpoint, there is no major physical difference between the Palm Treo 700wx and the 700w, other than the Sprint branding. It sports the same dimensions (5.1 by 2.3 by 0.9 inches; 6.4 ounces) and full QWERTY keyboard of the 700w, and...

The Palm Treo 700wx offers more available memory than Verizon's version, the 700w. The Windows Mobile smart phone also has integrated Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and EV-DO support.

The Palm Treo 700wx lacks integrated Wi-Fi and retains the low-resolution 240x240-pixel display.

The Palm Treo 700wx brings some needed improvements to the Windows Mobile smart phone, such as more memory, but it's still far from perfect.

Palm Treo 700wx

Except for the Sprint logo, the Treo 700wx looks exactly like Verizon Wireless's Treo 700w. Like its predecessor, the handset uses a disappointingly dull 2.5-inch, 240-by-240 screen. In fact, the Treo's screen is among the lowest-resolution smartphones...

More memory than Treo 700w. Easy to dial the phone and use in one hand

Low-res, cramped screen. Expensive. Some software instability

The 700wx is a small upgrade to the 700w, but it's neither as easy to use as the Treo 700p nor as powerful as other competing Windows Mobile devices.

Palm 700wx

Palm broke from tradition at the beginning of 2006 by introducing their first Windows Mobile-powered device, the Treo 700w for Verizon.  The 700w brought the familiarity and corporate compatibility of the Pocket PC operating system to the Treo...

Review: Treo 700wx

Dieter Bohn gives a full review of Palm's Treo 700wx.

The Treo 700wx will cost you $499.99 with a 2-year service plan, $649.99 without, so it's certainly far from cheap. Sprint's unlimited data plan is, though, at just $15 per month. It's available now

Palm Treo 700wx Review

One of the great things about being a cutting edge Mobile Technology reviewer is that I get to play with all the latest Smart phones. It is no secret that I fell in love with the Motorola Q - but, alas, I am not a Verizon customer so it won't become my...

My advice would be to go to your Sprint store and hold this device - play with it - see if it is comfortable. Then go home and wait for the Motorola Q and compare the two side by side.
