BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220

If you can live without fast over-the-air data speeds and good web mobile web browsing then the sexy BlackBerry Flip is worth a look.

Sleek design, Gorgeous screen, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone socket

No 3G, BlackBerry browser needs a few tweaks, Form factor not suitable for taking photos or watching video

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Review

We weren't sure what it was going to be like using a clamshell BlackBerry. But over a few days, we grew to like the design. Flip phone fans and Pearl addicts will appreciate the improved, spacious keyboard, higher-resolution display, fresh operating...

Sharp clamshell design, Beautiful display, Comfortable keyboard, Good call quality

Inconsistent Wi-Fi performance', Lacks 3G and GPS

BlackBerry 8220 Pearl Flip Review

The first clamshell coming from Blackberry, namely 8220 Pearl, seems to announce that RIM has new plans for the handset market. If you are acquainted with RIM's Blackberry devices and a little bit bored by the same bar form factor, then you are surely...

The most appealing feature of the smartphone remains the astonishing user interface. In terms of design, I could only notice the light weight of the phone, opposite to its size. The complete messaging offer, as well as the wide range of Instant...

The thing I found unbearable was the integrated browser, which should've run more smoothly, though I corrected it by adding Opera Mini. Furthermore, lack of 3G connectivity might hurt those who don't have access to Wi-Fi networks. Better battery life...

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 (T-Mobile): Review Part 2

RIM flips it with first ever clamshell BlackBerry

The Pearl Flip is RIM's first non-candybar BlackBerry handset and the results are fair but not outstanding. Some consumers will appreciate the Flip design, but the lack of 3G connectivity is a real let-down.

Stylish front, external display, all the e-mail features and functions of a regular BlackBerry, Wi-Fi, excellent audio quality, SureType keyboard

No 3G connectivity, no GPS, awkward hinge design, bottom casing feels cheap, slightly sluggish when opening applications

BlackBerry Flip 8220

The BlackBerry Pearl gets the Flip treatment. The Flip 8220 features dual colour displays. One for viewing previewing text messages, emails or checking out who's calling and an internal screen for the rest of its functions. Also featured is a QWERTY...

BlackBerry still hasn’t decided who its audience is. The Flip is too hip for executives, too chunky for street kids – but maybe just right for you, sir. Yes, you with the multiple email accounts, extensive media collection and trackball fixation....

RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip review

The BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip is a truly sexy smartphone. Its modern, minimalist design is sure to draw stares - from men and women alike. But it also feels light and flimsy and the shiny black external display panel, the real focal point of its...

All the Hardware but really Buggy software. Beware

At first I loved it without data plan but later added it. I was happy with it until apps got bigger and complex. This might I have constant memory problems with leaks and OS crashes that you have to backup your phone every week or you lose everything.

Flip design ; Large Keyboard (suretype) ; BlackBerry OS ; Number 1 is UMA (Wifi calling)

Small app memory ; Easy to crash OS (no fixes or support) ; Lags a lot when too many apps or web page
