Samsung I8350 Omnia W review: By the playbook

When Windows Phone launched a year ago, we were excited to first see it on the Super AMOLED screen of the Samsung Omnia 7. Twelve months or so later, Samsung are sort of in power-saving mode in the joint venture with Microsoft. Their Omnia W isn't...

3.7" 16M-color capacitive Super AMOLED touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels) ; Gorilla Glass ; Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Dual-band 3G with HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps ; Windows Phone 7.5 Mango ; 1.4GHzQualcomm...

Non-expandable storage ; No mass storage ; Zune-only file management and sync ; No Bluetooth file transfers ; No Flash (nor Silverlight) support in the browser ; No DivX/XviD video support (automatic transcoding provided by Zune software)

You must've figured it by now. If you're coming from an Omnia 7 you can pass right along - nothing much for you here. The Omnia W has a smaller screen and less storage than its predecessor - and the beefed up processor cannot quite make up for that.

Samsung Omnia W Preview

Samsung Omnia W is part of the second batch of Windows Phones that are about to hit the market in time for the holidays, and judging by the “W” in the title, it is supposed to fit in the midrange spectrum of Samsung's WP portfolio.

Samsung Omnia W Hands on: Initial impressions

Introduction The 3.7-inch Windows 7.5 phone has a Super AMOLED screen with a 1.4GHz Scorpion processor coupled with a Snapdragon chipset and a 1500mAh battery. Impressive? Well, we'll have to see that as…

Overall at Rs. 20k odd it looks and feels like it’s more expensive counterparts. The initial impressions are good, but we’ll have to take it for a wild ride to see how far it can run before it runs out of juice. Tune in for our detailed review shortly.

Samsung Omnia W Windows Phone

The Samsung Omnia W is no world beater, but it offers a far better user experience than most mid-range Android handsets at similar price points.

Compact size ; Slick performance ; Reasonable price

Only 8GB of storage ; No memory card slot ; Average battery life

The Samsung Omnia W is not going to attract the iPhone and Android masses and doesn't really offer anything new. However, this is a very good mid-range smartphone at a relatively competitive price. Slick performance, an excellent user experience and a...

Samsung Omnia W I8350 Review

The next Windows Phone 7 experience comes from Samsung in the form of their recently announced Omnia W I8530. With the likes of the Nokia's Lumia 800 and the possible under Rs.20,000, Lumia 710, the competition is getting quite fierce. The Omnia range...

The Omnia W is the cheapest Windows Phone 7 right now and is available for a price of Rs.19,990 (MOP). That may seem like a great price for a handset with specs like these, however taking overall functionality into account, we were not impressed and...

The Samsung Omnia W boasts a faster processor and a more rounded design than its predecessor, but doesn't offer enough to entice rival smartphone users to the Windows Phone platform. This is not the juicy mango we're looking for.
