BlackBerry Torch 9810

BlackBerry only recently announced a slew of new smartphones out of which the Bold-Touch 9900 already made its mark on the nation and now it's the upgrade to the Torch. Nearly a year after the o

BlackBerry Torch 9810 Review

RIM has undoubtedly been sinking, but the Torch 9810 manages to do a lot of things well. For BlackBerry users, the Torch's quick web browsing, seamless system navigation, and high-def video will be welcome upgrades. For anyone else on an iPhone or...

BlackBerry Torch 9810 ( T-Mobile)

Editors' note: Portions of this review were taken from our evaluation of the BlackBerry Torch 9810 for AT&T Wireless .

The RIM BlackBerry Torch 9810 has a sharp and vibrant touch screen, a decent physical keyboard, BlackBerry 7 OS, a 1.2GHz processor, and 720p HD video recording.

The RIM BlackBerry Torch 9810's design is similar to a previous generation model, and it is far more expensive than the AT&T version of the same phone.

The RIM BlackBerry Torch 9810 should satisfy BlackBerry fans with its responsive touch screen and overall specs, but for $50 more, T-Mobile customers could get the much better Bold 9900 instead.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 Review

Armed with both an improved multi-touch display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Torch 9810 builds on the design of the original Torch 9800 from 2010 with some much-needed upgrades in the hardware department. This includes “4G” HSPA+ connectivity,...

Bright, responsive display ; Full QWERTY keyboard ; Fast browser ; Inexpensive

Small touchscreen ; Far outdated OS ; Terrible app selection ; Plastic construction, fragile moving parts ; Short battery life

The real downside to the Torch 9810 is the already-outdated BlackBerry OS 7, and the near-complete lack of quality apps available through App World.

BlackBerry Torch 9810

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 won't wow newcomers with its tired old design, but its affordable price and much-improved specs should keep BlackBerry enthusiasts satisfied.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 review: Buttoned-up

A fresh dose of oxygen or a new torchbearer? It doesn't matter which one you think RIM needed to keep the flame alive. They got both in the new BlackBerry Torch 9810. Double the processing power, the new sped-up and brushed-up BlackBerry OS 7 and...

BlackBerry Torch 9810 review

For those who haven't followed my smartphone history (and I suspect many haven't), last December I gave up my BlackBerry Curve 8530 for an Android phone. It's true, I was long a BlackBerry (and BlackBerry Messenger) addict, but as of December 2010, RIM...

Good camera ; Sturdy build ; Snappy performance

Same old design ; OS is seriously dated ; App selection is quite terrible

Can faster innards and a new operating system keep the Torch alive?

BlackBerry Torch 9810: Solid, Responsive, and Slightly Underwhelming

Last year RIM introduced the BlackBerry Torch 9800, a touchscreen/QWERTY-keyboard hybrid. Almost exactly a year later, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 ($50 with a two-year contract from AT&T as of August 16, 2011) has arrived.

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 improves on where the original Torch left off, but in specs it remains far behind the competition.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 Review

It's been more than a year since we reviewed the BlackBerry Torch 9800 , RIM's hybrid touch/QWERTY slider, and while the company says the smartphone has gone on to be one of their more popular devices, we couldn't get past the underwhelming screen...

On the one hand, RIM has done just what we asked it to: given the Torch a faster turn of speed and a better display. Unfortunately, we asked for that twelve months ago, and otherwise - BB7 and 720p video notwithstanding - it's basically the same...

BlackBerry Torch 9810 review

In the fall of 2010, AT&T stores nationwide installed a mysterious shroud housing some sort of exhibit. Even employees didn't even know what was

Excellent battery life ; Responsive touchscreen via Liquid Graphics ; Solid improvement over 9800

User Interface ; Outdated design ; Limited app support

The 9810 offers a massive boost in hardware and very little noticeable improvement in firmware.
