Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket review: Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket

The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket has a beautiful 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display along with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, an NFC chip, and support for AT&T's LTE network. It ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and has an 8-megapixel camera with...

AT&T's LTE network is only available in a few cities at the time of the Skyrocket's launch, it has a somewhat cheap, plastic feel, and you can't remove bloatware.

If you live in an area that gets AT&T's LTE network, we highly recommend the powerful and beautiful Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

"Great Phone!"

Excellent phone that is still working well after a year and the technology in use is still relivant.

Does everything I want and more. Touch and feel are intutive and it connects fast. Accepts many apps and works well without rooting.

The touch buttons at the bottom of the screen are hard hard to see when the phone goes to sleep. The Processer is good but more RAM is needed for the Primary functions.

"Everything I want from a smartphone."

I purhcased this phone as a upgrade on AT&T last november of 11'. Using this phone for almost a year now I can say its stil relevant to smartphone standards which is amazing considering how fast smartphones change every 3 months. The phone is a little...

"beautiful, fast, not robust at all"

Beautiful, bright, fast, but too delicate. Not durable at all.

Huge screen, bright screen, fast, sexy, Swype, 4G, LTE.

Won't fit in a pocket or cell phone pouch in purses. Thin & easily damaged. Hard case, didn't drop or knock it, but display went away --cracks UNDER the glass. AT&T said holding it tight can cause fracture in display. Won't replace with a Skyrocke

"Not easy to upgrade to ICS if have mac"

Basically, this will be my last samsung device. First, the update to ice cream sandwich took way too long to come out - jelly bean is already out! Second, samsung is requiring users to download Kies to do the update rather than simply doing the update...

better than iphone because has file management and can play movies in a variety of formats (not just mp4)

The upgradeable to ice cream sandwich cannot be done if you are a mac user. If you call samsung, they basically run you through a quick setup and then say to do the update on a PC.

"Best phone I ever had, so much power in small package."

I love this phone, my first Samsung product, but not the last.

Great size, wonderful and large LCD screen, easy to use, has a great speakerphone, great reception (AT&T), super price, great music sound quality. I get about 24 hours of battery life with normal phone use.

Takes too much time to hang up a call from speakerphone.

"Went back to Iphone"

This was a fun phone, and i appreciate the integration of the task killer into Gingerbread compared to earlier versions of the android software but there are still some processes that run in the background regardless of killing them in the task killer...

super fast internet, even in 3G only areas

"Best smartphone I've owned."

This phone replaced two: a Nokia 6300 I've had for five years and a Blackberry Torch. I've used Blackberrys for 15 years. Leaving one for an Android took time but really there is no comparison. It's like I moved up a decade in technology from 2002 to...

Lightning speed with LTE. Strong phone reception. Good voice operation features.

Don't expect a full day of use without recharging even with an extended battery. Voice dialing with bluetooth can happen but it's not 100%.

"Love this phone!"

This is a great phone and after purchasing an $11 2250mA battery from Amazon, my useage time is now equivalent to an iPhone 4s. 12 hours of actual useage with live wallpapers, active notifications, emails, web browsing, twitter and facebook. Screen...

Lack of accessories

"Great phone, frustrated by lack of Samsung accessories."

Really like the Skyrocket, but the lack of the Vehicle Kit (which automotically puts the phone into car mode) is a major disappointment. We own the kit for my Wife's Galaxy Note, and it is awesome. Places the Note in "car mode" activating Voice Talk...

Love everything about this phone as far as functionality, especially living in a 4G LTE town. Fast, powerful, and looks great.

Seriously ticked off at the lack of a Samsung accessory support for the Skyrocket.
