Samsung C3300K Champ review: Having fun

Sometimes less is more. The Samsung C3300K Champ lets you start small, hoping that sooner or later you will want more. It's a deal that suits Samsung fine. This here Champ is a touch phone with social networking support, stereo speakers, cordless FM...

Quad-band GSM/EDGE ; 2.4" resistive TFT touchscreen of QVGA resolution ; TouchWiz Lite with widgets and Cartoon UI ; 50 MB onboard storage, microSD card slot (up to 8GB) ; 1.3 megapixel fixed-focus camera with smile detection, QCIF@15fps video...

Small screen ; No 3G ; Very basic camera ; No on-screen QWERTY keyboard ; No smart dialing ; SNS support is basic, works through the browser ; microSD slot under the battery cover ; No accelerometer for screen auto rotation

When the Corby first came out, it was aiming at the young crowd and priced low enough. And it was a success – spawning countless sequels. The Samsung C3300K Champ aims even lower than the Corby in terms of demographics.

The Champ is a basic phone, it is meant for children, as the buttons are actually very adequate in the hands of a child but rather small and hard to press using adult hands. It comes at a basic price tag -- it is a basic phone. Major inadequacies on...

Samsung C3300K Champ

The browser on this device is the Netfront 3.5 browser, which we understand is not the latest version. Anyway, browsing on such a small screen is unlikely to be the most satisfying experience. You can do it with ease, but that should not be the main...

Good for calling and its battery life is GREAT! I only charge it about once a week, and I talked with my boyfriend EVERY NIGHT over 1 hour each night. I don't use this phone to text or web surfing and would not recommend it for people who loved texting...
