Samsung Galaxy Note 9 review: A better Note for most of us

Samsung continues its nearly spotless history of delivering excellent big-screen phones with the Note 9. It offers powerful performance, a long-lasting battery and a brilliant display. Its cameras aren't the best in class, but they still take great...

Useful new S Pen features Excellent performance Big and bright display Good battery life Capable cameras

Ships with outdated Android Oreo Bixby is wack

The Note 9 is a satisfying update that will please power users, and with its new S Pen features, it even has the potential to appeal to a more mainstream audience. Samsung only needs to iron out a few quirks (I'm looking at you, Bixby) and push out its...

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 hands-on review

From water cooling to a supercapacitor, the Galaxy Note 9 overflows with tech

Beautiful, large screen Massive battery; A.I. Scene Optimizer is promising; Strong performance; S Pen offers remote control.

Expensive; Bixby still exists; No Android 9.0 Pie.

From afar, the new Galaxy Note 9 may feel like a miniscule upgrade over its predecessor, but the sum of its parts make it a killer phone. Is it inspiring like the iPhone X? No. Does it have the most recent version of Android? No. But it’s still a damn...

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 review

The ultrapricey Note 9 is one of the year's best phones. But unless you're in dire need of an upgrade, the smart move is to wait for what the next iPhone, Pixel and even Galaxy S10 bring

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is a big, beautiful phone with top-tier specs including a massive battery and internal storage that starts at 128GB. The new S Pen doubles as a wireless remote for taking long-distance selfies.

It's expensive and offers few real innovations over last year's Note 8. The fingerprint reader is uncomfortably close to the camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 review: The best never felt so bland

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has the most storage and RAM, and best screen that you can get in a phone. So why doesn't it feel more exciting?

Great screen, great specs, great camera ; S Pen has some cool new tricks. ; Giant battery means it'll last through most days.

It's expensive. ; It still runs Android Oreo and probably will for a while. ; Bixby isn't as good as Google Assistant and you can't turn off the button any more.

Samsung isn’t just selling you a phone for $1,000, it’s selling you a do-it-all machine. It’s not a stretch to say the Note 9 is the most powerful and capable Android phone ever made. But all that power comes at a price, both literally and figuratively.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 review: more, more, more

The most of everything, including price

Gorgeous, vibrant, bright, big display ; Fast performance ; True all-day battery life ; Lots of storage, even in the base model

High price tag ; Large, unwieldy size ; Duplicate apps and extra features that don’t add much value

For the Note 9 to make sense, you need to want more than just “more,” you need to want the most. And having the most will cost you the most.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is an attractive pen-enabled phablet with a fast processor, a terrific modem, and a huge battery.

Big battery. Lots of storage. Excellent S Pen stylus. Class-leading processor and modem.

Expensive. Heavy.

Old Galaxy Note owners, it's time to put those failing, ancient phones down and pick up this beauty, with its all-day battery. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is the ultimate productivity phone right now, a gorgeous beast of a phablet that lets you sign...

The Galaxy Note 9 leaks early in Samsung preorder page and launch video

Here's everything we know (and think we know) about the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung's next flagship phone.

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Note 9 will be announced at an even in New York on August 9. That’s earlier than last year’s Note 8 launch, which was unveiled on August 23. That should mean it will go on sale near the end of August based on...

Samsung Galaxy Note9 Performance & Battery Showdown: Snapdragon vs Exynos

The Note9's been has been out for several months now, but unfortunately we never really did get to reviewing the phone. A big question from a lot of our community members that kept coming up is whether we'd redo testing of the Snapdragon vs Exynos...

Samsung as a whole needs to decide where they want to go forward with this dual-sourcing strategy as I currently see it as a lose-lose situation for both the smartphone division as well as their chipset business. Hopefully the Exynos 9820 manages to be...

Galaxy Note 9 Samsung DeX Review: Limited freedom

By now, Samsung DeX is almost two years old. For a very niche feature that comes from a company that has a tendency to abandon niche features, that's quite that's quite an achievement. But Samsung is hardly the only one in this phone-as-a-desktop...
