Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II - The Best Android Yet!

The Galaxy S II has been one of those handsets that the mobile community has been craving for. Sure we have the iPhone 4, but S II was, as far as I was concerned, to be the next best thing or the alternative for those with lower budgets. A few weeks...

The Galaxy S II, although officially available for Rs. 32,490 (16GB), is also available, in some locations, for about Rs. 30,000. The fact that the device performs quite seamlessly and is priced rather reasonably, impressed me. When compared to similar...

Samsung Galaxy S II Plus review: Golden oldie

Samsung has been steadily setting the bar ever higher with each flagship released, and the massive success of the Samsung Galaxy S III and its predecessor, the S II, have catapulted it to the top of the smartphone food chain. And, as is expected in the...

Quad-band GSM and quad-band 3G support ; 21.1 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA support ; 4.3" 16M-color Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen of WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution ; Android OS 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Nature UX ; 1.2 GHz dual-core...

No dedicated camera key ; Almost identical to its predecessor ; Below average loudspeaker performance ; Pricey at launch

We mentioned at the start that it's the software where the S II Plus will make the most sense over the original Galaxy S II, due in large part to the near-identical hardware of the two devices. However, with Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S II already...

Samsung Galaxy S II (U.S. Cellular)

The popular Samsung Galaxy S II makes its way to U.S. Cellular.

As with the Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile, there's a lot to like about U.S. Cellular's version. This $179 device has a gorgeous AMOLED display, speedy processor and a quality camera. However, its lack of 4G speeds makes us feel like...

Samsung Galaxy S II ICS review: Sugar coated

The Samsung Galaxy S II has sold in record numbers worldwide and millions of users must've cheered the news of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update rolling out. The latest OS from Google is a new lease of life for the Galaxy S II - but desserts...

Samsung Galaxy S II (U.S. Cellular)

With the rapid-fire release of one smartphone after another, it's easy for once-great phones to quickly become obsolete. Luckily, the Samsung Galaxy S II is one device with staying power, and its appearance on U.S. Cellular's network is a slam dunk.

The Samsung Galaxy S II has a large, beautiful 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a great 8-megapixel camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 16GB built-in storage

U.S. Cellular's Samsung Galaxy S II has a slower network. It's significantly pricier than other handsets in the carrier's lineup

With venerable specs, including a terrific camera and large, beautiful screen, the Samsung Galaxy S II is holding true to its claim to fame as the everyman's high-end Android phone.

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket review: Aiming for the stars

We have the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket all set on the launch pad. Announced together with the HTC Vivid, the smartphone is among the first LTE enabled devices, compatible with AT&T's all new LTE net- work. The smartphone...

If you find the device looks somewhat familiar, there is a good reason for it. The Skyrocket is almost 100% identical to the T-Mobile Galaxy S II, which we came to like quite a lot. The handset has the same size and uses the same hardware, save for two...

Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T review

The question every manufacturer of a non-Apple smartphone on AT&T has to answer is “why buy this over an iPhone?” For Samsung and most other Android handset makers, the answer is a big, bright screen, fast speeds, and all the...

Big, vibrant Super AMOLED Plus display ; Super fast processor ; Solid camera

Display resolution is too low ; 4G" speeds are very slow ; Body feels cheap and breakable

The Galaxy S II is a very good phone, but it doesn't separate itself from the rest of AT&T's smartphone lineup

Samsung Galaxy S II AT&T

The Samsung Galaxy S II is more compact than its brothers and boasts a great camera and fast data speeds.

Fast dual-core processor ; Solid HSPA+ 4G connectivity ; Bright, colorful 8-MP photos, 1080p video ; Clear, crisp voice connections

Screen dimmer than other Galaxy S IIs ; Camera shutter a little sluggish

AT&T subscribers now have two stellar smartphones to choose from at $199: The Galaxy S II and the iPhone 4S. The S II has a bigger Super AMOLED Plus display packaged in a lighter design than Apple's handset. It also offers a great camera and one of the...

Samsung Galaxy S II (black, T-Mobile)

Editors' note: Portions of this review were taken from our evaluations of the other Samsung Galaxy S II models. Additionally, due to changes in the competitive marketplace, we've lowered the overall rating of this product from 8.7 to 8.3.

The Samsung Galaxy S II supports T-Mobile's faster HSPA+ network and has a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and an NFC chip. The Android Gingerbread smartphone also has a spacious and vibrant Super AMOLED Plus touch screen, 16GB of internal memory, and great...

The smartphone is high-priced and on the larger side, and you can't remove bloatware.

The Samsung Galaxy S II ranks as one of T-Mobile's most powerful and feature-rich Android smartphones, but it's somewhat pricey.

Samsung Galaxy S II

Super AMOLED Plus screen is colorful and bright ; Great battery life ; Powerful dual-core processor ; Super thin and super light ; 16GB of internal storage ; TouchWiz UI is much improved

Plastic construction ; AT&T's “4G” data speeds are unimpressive

We highly recommend the Galaxy S II. More powerful phones will come out, but this will remain a great option for some time. At $200 with a two-year contract, we can't complain.
