Samsung Galaxy S7 Smartphone Review

Exploring new worlds? Exploring new worlds? Faster SoC, larger battery, better camera, premium display, and great design. The S-class from Samsung signifies excellence and our expectations are accordingly high. Usually these are also fulfilled, but the...

very sophisticated chassis with excellent build quality and stability, very good performance, great display, expandable storage, IP68 certification, good camera, accurate GPS module

TouchWiz does not use all features of Android 6.0, slippery rear cover, slight throttling under load, only micro-USB 2.0, no USB-C, no MHL, no DisplayPort, infrared transmitter was waived, PWM, high price

While the Samsung Galaxy S6 with its new metal chassis was a revolution for Samsung's flagship device, the new Galaxy S7 is more of an evolution. Samsung respects the customer's wishes and brings back some features like the memory expansion as well as...

Samsung Galaxy S7

There's nothing radically new about it, but the Samsung Galaxy S7 delivers the best Android smartphone performance in a relatively small package.

Small, for a high-end Android phone. Excellent modem and Wi-Fi performance. Super sharp, bright screen. MicroSD card slot. Waterproof build.

Not much internal storage. Camera isn't a big jump up from the S6. Carrier bloatware.

Conclusions The Samsung Galaxy S7 is a no-compromise luxury phone, and the top of the Android lineup. It's also pretty conventional. There's nothing crazy here like the LG G5's dual cameras or modular build, just a good-looking, powerful smartphone...

Samsung Galaxy S7 review: Gorgeous S6 successor that brings back desired features

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is a nearly perfect smartphone and for once I honestly cannot think of a single element that is missing from it. It's fairly expensive, but at least it looks, feels, and performs to the price level.

Gorgeous design, superb fit and finish ; Water resistant ; microSD for inexpensive storage expansion ; Long battery life and multiple ways to charge ; Useful Samsung enhancements

Samsung Mini review video: Our verdict on the Galaxy S7 in about a minute

Another year, another Galaxy S. While the new S7 isn't as dramatic a departure for Samsung as the S6 was, it benefits immensely from a year's worth of refinement. It's more powerful, not to mention even more beautiful than the S6, but Samsung hasn't...

Improved style and ergonomics ; Top-tier performance ; Beautiful screen ; It's (mostly) waterproof!

Camera can be a mixed bag ; Slightly underwhelming battery ; SIM/microSD tray is flimsy

Samsung Galaxy S7 (gold platinum)

While still a very decent phone overall, the Galaxy S7 Active's inconsistent performance in the water has sapped our enthusiasm, and we can no longer recommend the phone with complete confidence. (Note that Samsung released a statement that it has...

Polished design. Awesome camera. Long battery life. microSD storage slot and water-resistant (again!).

Annoyingly reflective. Smudge magnet. Plastic-looking selfies even with no filter. No removable battery, which isn't surprising, but is still a compromise compared to 2014's S5.

The fast, powerful, beautiful Galaxy S7 phone is 2016's all-around phone to beat.

Samsung Galaxy S7 review

Samsung's Galaxy S7 is the standard-bearer for Android phones in 2016.

The Galaxy S7 looks fantastic and is more comfortable to hold than the Galaxy S6 was last year. We’re very impressed with Samsung’s new camera, increased battery capacity, accessories, and waterproof design. Those benefits come on top of an...

Samsung Galaxy S7 Review

You could forgive Samsung for harboring a little resentment toward Android phone buyers. After all, it gave us the Galaxy S6 - and in the process answered the most vocal and persistent criticisms of build quality and style, among other things - only to...

With the Galaxy S7, Samsung hasn’t reinvented the smartphone wheel but it has demonstrated that it’s listening. That it’s an evolution rather than a revolution over and above last year’s S6 is no great criticism: last year’s phone was, frankly, already...

Samsung Galaxy S7 review: on the edge of perfection

For the S7, Samsung didn't rewrite its formula. Instead, it took what was good in the S6, refined and iterated upon it, and produced something much better.

Excellent design and build quality ; Excellent camera ; Reliable battery life ; Fast performance

New software features miss more than hit ; Too many preloaded apps ; Finish is slippery

Samsung Galaxy S7 vs LG G4

For the second year in a row now, Samsung launches a duo of flagship smartphones clad in metal and glass. This time around, the "regular" Galaxy S7 keeps the 5.1-inch screen, while its sibling, the Galaxy S7 edge, is better defined as a device for a...

Unique design with leather back and slight curve ; Bigger screen ; User-replaceable blattery ; Cheaper

There are two reasons why you might be interested in comparing these two handsets. You either own an LG G4 and are interested in upgrading to one of this year's heavy hitters, or are looking for a new phone and are wondering whether it's a good idea to...

Samsung Galaxy S7 vs Samsung Galaxy S6

With sales of its flagship S line going downhill ever since the Galaxy S4, Samsung opted for a change of pace with last year's Galaxy S6. Redesigning the handset from the ground up, the South Korean electronics giant finally delivered a phone it could...

There's time to wax poetic, and there's time to tackle the facts head on. And the facts are that the Galaxy S7 is an evolutionary step forward for Samsung, but no more. Sure, we're more than happy to see that the company has improved on ergonomics and...
