Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Plus, SM-G955F) Smartphone Review

Galactic overachiever. Samsung does not make any compromises for its flagship smartphone Galaxy S8+ (Plus) and equips it with a lot of high-end features. You also get a great display with a new aspect ratio and the design is convenient as well. There...

great display ; nice design ; fast SoC ; very good GPS performance ; fast Wi-Fi ; Gigabit LTE ; good voice quality ; comprehensive sensor equipment ; USB 3.1 with DP, HDMI, and OTG ; long battery runtime ; Quick-charge and wireless charging ; water and...

…but unfortunately not much improved over the predecessor ; no dual-SIM ; could support more LTE bands ; bad position of the fingerprint scanner ; SoC throttling under sustained workloads ; warranty does not cover water damage

Samsung's Galaxy S8 Plus is an excellent smartphone, which does not reveal any serious weaknesses. The new and almost bezel-less design already looks great on pictures, but it is even more impressive when you hold it in the hand. The Infinity display...

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus review

If you believe that more screen equals better screen, you're in luck. The Galaxy S8 Plus is exactly the Galaxy S8 with a larger display: 6.2 inches instead of 5.8.

The Galaxy S8 Plus is a big phone that manages to make a 6.2-inch screen look graceful. It has every hardware and software advantage of the ultrasleek, curved Galaxy S8, including long battery life.

You'll have to reach higher to get to the fingerprint sensor on the back -- a straight day of this gets annoying.

Lovers of big phones won't find a prettier device with a larger screen anywhere else, but you'll want to make sure it isn't too tall for you, and the fingerprint reader too hard to reach, before you commit.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus review: Redemption is here

All of the S8's accolades apply to the S8 Plus as well: It's a stellar performer that aptly blends beauty and horsepower. Its bigger body, however, means Samsung was able to squeeze a larger battery inside. Couple that with a surprisingly comfortable,...

Incredible fit and finish ; Samsung’s interface feels more polished ; Comfortable to hold ; Strong performance

Bixby isn’t ready for prime time ; Cameras aren’t hugely improved ; Fingerprint sensor placement is weird

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus aren't perfect, but they're as close as Samsung has ever gotten. That's a hell of a rebound for a company whose phablets... well, you know. Beyond the gorgeous design and the boost in horsepower, they feel like devices built...

Samsung Galaxy S8+

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is a larger version of the excellent Galaxy S8, trading a slightly bigger battery for a form factor that isn't as easy to use in one hand.

Longer battery life than the Galaxy S8.

Bigger, heavier, and more expensive than the Galaxy S8.

I may sound a little lukewarm on the Galaxy S8+, but that's just because I can only name one of them our Editors' Choice. The S8+ suffers from a bit of the middle child problem that the iPhone 7 does, trapped between an eminently pocketable little...

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus review: Stunning large display, balanced design, and advanced technology

After attending the Samsung Galaxy S8 launch event , I had the chance to try out the device for a couple of hours and put together my 10 best smartphones of 2017 so far post with the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus at the top of my list. After a week with the...

Stunning display with no side bezels ; Big display in device smaller than competitors ; Multiple security features, including an iris scanner ; Fast and wireless charging ; microSD expansion card slot ; High level water and dust resistance ; Gorilla...

Tough to accurately tap fingerprint sensor ; Fingerprints on back glass ; Bixby voice control not ready at launch

Samsung Galaxy S8+ vs Galaxy Note 5

For the third time in a row now, Samsung is putting out a shiny jewel of a flagship smartphone — a glass-and-metal sandwich with curvy sides, vibrant colors, and very reflective finishes. We are talking about the Galaxy S8 and its bigger variant — the...

Conventional display (flat, 16:9) ; Cheaper ; S Pen ; Front-facing, hardware home button / fingerprint sensor

Both the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 5 were built to be the most advanced and most premium-looking handsets that Samsung is capable of producing at their respective times of release. For that reason, the S8+ is a futuristic-looking piece of mobile...

Samsung Galaxy S8+ vs S7 Edge

The Galaxy S7 Edge was one of the most successful Samsung phones. Its striking curved screen that gave the impression of the screen just flowing along the phone's sides and its beautiful glass and metal construction were really something special.

Very good price ; Good battery life ; Still a top performer

It’s time for a wrap-up: with every aspect of the S8+ and S7 Edge compared and thoroughly examined, is it worth getting the S8+?

Samsung Galaxy S8+ Review

Such a tense moment, isn't it? Up until last year, Samsung was experiencing considerable setbacks due to rising competition from lower-cost Chinese phone vendors, and the fact the Galaxy S5 and S6 weren't exactly the most memorable products ever. The...

A bold new form-factor ; Solid all-around experience ; State-of-the-art camera

Performance could be better ; Screen colors are not too accurate

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is and isn't a big deal, depending on how you look at it. If you happen to have some degree of sensationalism in you — a quality that many of us tend to exhibit these days — you may be inclined to say that the S8+ is a...

Samsung Galaxy S8+ Review Tim Schiesser

Samsung knows how to make a premium Android smartphone. For the past few years, the Galaxy S series has nailed it, shooting Samsung to the top of the popularity charts. Now with the Galaxy S8's improvements to design, hardware and even software atop...

The most beautiful, futuristic phone I’ve ever seen. Enormous, vibrant display without being cumbersome. Great performance and battery life. Camera still stacks up favorably despite lack of hardware upgrade.

The most fragile phone ever made. Dumb fingerprint sensor position. Exynos version loves to throttle. Bixby isn’t anything special. Expensive.
