Samsung Galaxy S9

The Samsung Galaxy S9 puts the latest LTE bands and a great low-light camera into a smaller form factor than the S9+ for the best one-handed phone right now, but leaves a few things out.

Feels great in one hand. Excellent low-light camera performance. Better sound and network support than the Galaxy S8.

Not a radical upgrade from the Galaxy S8. Larger S9+ model has better cameras, more RAM, and stronger Wi-Fi performance.

Bottom Line: The Samsung Galaxy S9 puts the latest LTE bands and a great low-light camera into a smaller form factor than the S9+ for the best one-handed phone right now, but leaves a few things out.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review

The Galaxy S9 is a perfect-sized phone with a fantastic camera and great performance.

Excellent display ; Great 5.8-inch size ; Good speakers ; Strong performance ; Stunning low-light camera

Battery life is lower than competition ; Slow Android updates ; Camera not as versatile as S9 Plus

The Galaxy S9 is a comfortable and compact phone that offers a fantastic camera and great performance. We do think the S9 Plus is worth it for the second, versatile camera, but the S9’s perfect size makes it hard to ignore.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: Incrementally better in all the right places

Samsung's Galaxy S9 isn't the revolutionary design breakthrough that the Galaxy S8 was, but it's no less of a great phone.

The Infinity Display is even better than the one on the S8. ; Camera takes fantastic pics in all kinds of light. ; Fingerprint sensor is in a much better location.

Camera features like Dual Aperture and Super Slow-mo are a little gimmicky. ; AR Emoji is fun but not as advanced as Apple's Animoji. ; The single camera is great, but the S9+'s dual camera would have been better.

Anyone who’s in the market for a new phone should seriously consider buying an S9. It might be an insignificant upgrade in terms of physical design, but that’s a concern only if you really, really want people to know you have the latest and greatest...

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: predictably great, predictably flawed

The Galaxy S9 is all of the good and all of the bad we've come to expect from Samsung

Great design ; Beautiful display ; Fast performance ; Capable camera ; A headphone jack!

Average battery life ; Gimmicks galore ; Bixby still sucks ; Samsung has a poor history of updating its phones

Predictably, Samsung has made yet another excellent flagship phone. But, just as predictably, it still has plenty of room for improvement.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus Review

With their beautiful features, there were many reasons to love the Galaxy S8 and its bigger variant, the S8+. Acknowledging this, Samsung has wisely decided to focus on perfecting its winning formula. The result are the Galaxy S9 and S9+ – phones that...

Luscious design ; Top-notch screen with no notch ; Powerful and unique user interface ; Great camera performance

Facial recognition is not there yet ; AR Emoji needs more development ; Needs a more powerful graphics processor ; Battery life doesn’t wow

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: love and hate

The time has come: Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S9 and the S9+, the smartphone duo which will set the bar for all the competition this year. The S9 doesn't bring with it a radically fresh design, but under the hood and in the software features,...

Performance ; Camera ; Display ; Bixby

Unoriginal design ; Slow unlocking ; Battery life ; Bixby wake-up

At first glance, the Galaxy S9 looks unspectacular, because apart from the repositioning of the fingerprint sensor, Samsung seems not to have changed anything on the surface. Only after you hold the Galaxy S9 in your hand and compare it side-by-side to...
