Samsung Phone’s Mammoth Screen Is Made for Multimedia

Is a giant, 4.5-inch screen enough to differentiate the Infuse 4G from Android's numerous oversize offerings? For the most part, yes.

Samsung Infuse 4G review

I don't blame you for reading the headline of this review and thinking to yourself, not another Samsung Android phone. The company has flooded the market with smartphones that have very similar designs and specs — in other words, they are extremely...

Beautiful Super AMOLED Plus display ; Great camera ; Solid battery life

May be a bit too large for some ; AT&T “4G” speeds aren’t 4G at all ; Low screen resolution

The Infuse 4G's gigantic 4.5-inch display may not be for everyone, but can some other standout features give it mass market appeal?

Samsung Infuse 4G review: Extra legroom

In America, it is widely believed that bigger is better. Or so Samsung must have thought when they decided to launch the phone with the biggest and brightest screen first in the United States, and with the biggest network – AT&T. The Samsung Infuse 4G...

Quad-band GSM and quad-band 3G support ; 21 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA support ; 4.5" 16M-color Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen of WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution ; 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512 MB of RAM ; 8 MP wide-angle lens...

All-plastic build ; No dedicated camera key ; Super slim body has poor grip when taking pictures ; Single-core processor ; No 1080p video recording despite having the same camera unit as the Galaxy S2 ; Sheer size raises questions about single-handed...

Samsung Infuse 4G

You can accuse Samsung of a lot of things, but it knows how to keep up with trends. The electronics maker just took the wraps off the Infuse 4G on May 5, and as of May 15, it's officially available on AT&T. This isn't just another Android phone,...

Big 4.5-inch screen ; Bright screen ; Thinnest phone on the market ; 16GB of storage

Low screen resolution for its size ; Plastic shell ; HSPA+ speeds can’t compete with LTE ; TouchWiz interface has some quirks ; Weak, poorly placed speaker

The Samsung Infuse 4G is a great phone at a reasonable price if you're looking for an Android phone with a big screen.

Infuse 4G Review

How big is too big? It's an important question when you're looking at the Samsung Infuse 4G, AT&T's latest HSPA+ smartphone and a device that's as sizable face-on as it is slender from the side. A close relative of the much-loved Galaxy S II , it also...

The Infuse 4G isn't short on contradictions. Its 4G moniker promises speeds AT&T's HSPA+ can't quite deliver, and while we're used to big-screen phones packing all-round flagship specs, its single-core processor lags behind our current Android...

Infuse 4G

We're just getting into the swing of spring, flowers blooming and skeeters biting, but already it's been a great year for Samsung -- if we ignore the whole lawsuit thing. Just a few weeks ago the company delivered to us our highest scoring Android...

Thin profile ; Excellent battery life ; Beautiful screen

Inconsistent data performance ; That screen might be a little too big ; External HDMI adapter

Samsung Infuse 4G (AT&T)

First introduced at CES 2011 , the Samsung Infuse 4G finally reaches AT&T's network on May 15 for $199.99 with a two-year contract. The Infuse 4G is the carrier's latest Android device, and it sure is getting a lot of fanfare. Not only is it being...

The Samsung Infuse 4G features a large and vibrant 4.5-inch touch screen that's great for browsing and videos. The Android smartphone is ultrathin and has an 8-megapixel camera and snappy performance.

The lower-resolution screen makes text look a bit pixelated. AT&T's 4G data speeds are slow.

The Samsung Infuse 4G disappoints in some areas, but it's still a very good Android smartphone for AT&T customers as long as you're OK with the larger design.

Samsung Infuse 4G (AT&T) Review

The Samsung Infuse 4G has plenty to offer--a sleek design, a good camera, and a big and vibrant screen. However, even though this device is thin and light for a 4.5-inch smartphone, using it one-handed can feel awkward because of the large footprint....

Large, bright display, Above-average battery life, Light for its size, Good call quality

Poor "4G" speeds, Difficult to use with one hand, Need to plug in power for HDMI out

Samsung Infuse 4G

The Samsung Infuse 4G ($200 on AT&T after a new 2-year contract) is a great-looking phone with exceptional media capabilities. Unfortunately, while it may shine at playing movies and music, images and text come out looking like a mess.

Exceptional multimedia capabilities ; Nice, big screen for easy typing

Photos sometimes have a red tint ; Text and images are jagged

The Samsung Infuse 4G is a great phone for the media-hungry consumer, but a few issues keep it from being great.

Product Specifications

The Samsung Infuse 4G will be the thinnest 4G smartphone available in the U.S. and will feature the largest screen -- at 4.5 inches -- in AT&T’s smartphone lineup, and the largest touch screen on any Samsung phone. Powered by a 1.2 GHz application processor and running the Android 2.2 platform, the device delivers a brilliant display using Samsung’s next-generation Super AMOLED Plus technology which features 50 percent more sub-pixels for better contrast. The display also offers unmatched outdoor viewing quality, even in the brightest sunlight. The smartphone also includes an 8-megapixel camera/camcorder with auto-focus and flash that shoots HD video with incredible detail. A front facing camera is perfect for self portraits or video chat. Customers can also watch hit movies and TV shows from preloaded apps like Samsung Media Hub, U-verse Mobile and U-verse Live TV.
