Samsung Array ( Boost Mobile)

If you don't want a smartphone, but still want to text like mad, then take a long look at the Samsung Array. Sure, its design will transport you back to the previous century, but you're left with a user-friendly and simple feature phone with reliable...

The Samsung Array has a simple user-friendly design with a spacious and comfortable keyboard. Call quality is top-notch.

The Array's display has a low resolution. Media and Web features deliver a poor experience.

The Samsung Array excels at communication, but anyone wanting more out of a phone should look elsewhere.

Samsung Montage (Virgin Mobile)

Plain old cell phones are getting harder to come by, even on contract-free carriers like Virgin Mobile. But not everyone is ready for a smartphone. If you're content to talk, text, and not do much else, the $49.99 Samsung Montage from Virgin Mobile is...

Simple. Adequate keyboard. Inexpensive plans

No 3G. Poor video camera. Limited features

The Samsung Montage lets you talk and text on an inexpensive payLo plan from Virgin Mobile, but that's pretty much it.

Samsung Array (Boost Mobile)

Boost Mobile may be home to a diverse, capable collection of smartphones, but not everybody needs or wants one of them. There are still plenty of people out there looking for a phone to just make calls and send the occasional text message. The $59.99...

Simple. Adequate keyboard

No 3G. Poor video camera. Limited features

The Samsung Array for Boost Mobile allows you to talk and text on the cheap, and not much else.

Samsung Montage ( Virgin Mobile)

Virgin Mobile, like most carriers these days, skews toward the smartphone, but it needs to keep options open for customers with more straightforward goals in mind. For them, the $50 Samsung Montage is a decent choice as a texting phone. It won't win...

Its physical design is one of the Samsung Montage's greatest strengths, along with its media player, search feature, and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The Montage's battery life is short, and the keyboard keys could be taller.

Virgin Mobile's budget-friendly Samsung Montage is a functional messaging phone without a contract, though its poor battery life and entry-level features hardly stand out in the crowd.

"Can't import contacts from old phone!!"

I like the physical keyboard and good-sized screen. Other features good too.

Can't import contacts from old phone! And it's even made by the same manufacturer, Samsung! UGH!! I'll have to type in every blasted one of my contacts. Both phones have Bluetooth, but they still can talk to each other to transfer my contacts.
