Samsung S7220 Ultra b review: More than meets the eye

Sharp looks and decent kit, Samsung S7220 Ultra b is one of those handsets that would rather do the job than do the talk. Not so long ago, the S7220 Ultra b could've been basking in the Soul kind of hype...

Quad-band GSM and dual-band (900/2100 MHz) UMTS with HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) support ; 2.2" 256K-color AMOLED display of QVGA resolution ; 11.8mm thickness ; 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, Smile detection, Wide dynamic range and geotagging ;...

Smallish display ; Small and fiddly soft keys ; No camera lens protection ; No full-featured voice-guided navigation software ; Inadequate flash performance ; QVGA video recording only

Samsung Ultra B S7220 Review

Samsung Lucido S7220

So what is actually going on under the Lucido's smart but subdued exterior? One immediately obvious feature is the 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash on the back. The camera features face and smile detection and also comes with "anti-blur...

Samsung S7220 Ultra b

But in fact, the Ultra b is a lot more interesting than it first looks. This is a 3.5G phone with a 5 megapixel camera and GPS that comes in at a very lightweight 88 grams and should retail for only around €240 SIM-free.

Samsung Lucido S7220

If you're looking for a well-featured, low-cost, SIM-free handset, add the GPS-enabled Samsung Lucido S7220 to your shortlist.

I really liked the Samsung Lucido S7220. Considering its low cost, it has a whole bunch of good features. Shame the GPS is hidden away, but overall if you are looking for a SIM-free choice this could be a good shortlist handset.

Samsung Lucido S7220 Review

Sometimes you want a phone that's just a phone, and sometimes, you want a phone that looks like it's just a phone, but with some downright bizarre hidden features. There's no touchscreen, a limited…

Samsung - Lucido S7220

Sometimes you could be forgiven for thinking the candybar handset is dead. But in fact it is alive and kicking, and even blingy old Samsung takes a pot-shot at it from time to time. The Lucido ...

The Samsung Lucido lacks wow-factor in terms of design, and has no Wi-Fi. But it is suitable for the thick-of-thumb and has superb battery life.

I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually

I bought this phone as a replacement for my damaged Sony Ericsson K800, and although it is quite similar in design and function, some of the Samsungs logic is different enough to give me grief especially when texting. I'm sure I'll get used to it eve...

The predictive text is a bit annoying

This phone looks pretty good, its fairly slim and the number buttons are bigger than on my previous phones. There are a few things I don't like about it though, all my contact info got really messed up when previously I used a Sony Ericsson. You ...
