Samsung Messager Touch SCH-R630 (U.S. Cellular)

The Samsung Messager Touch SCH-R630 is a useful texting cell phone for U.S. Cellular subscribers. It offers an excellent keyboard and strong battery life, while letting buyers select a less-expensive cell phone data plan instead of a smartphone plan....

Roomy QWERTY keyboard. Loud speakerphone. Good battery life. Value priced

No GPS. Confusing menu layout. Stiff touch screen response. Useless for video recording or playback

The Samsung Messager Touch SCH-R630 is a solid texting device for budget-minded U.S. Cellular customers, but it's missing too many other popular features to be a leader.

Samsung Messager Touch SCH-R630 (black, U.S. Cellular)

Samsung often makes a line of phones specific to smaller carriers such as U.S. Cellular and MetroPCS , and the Samsung Messager line is an example of that. Both the Messager and the Messager II are pretty basic and have a design similar to that of the...

The Samsung Messager Touch has an ergonomic and compact design, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2.0-megapixel camera, and good call quality. We also like that it has 3.5mm headset jack.

The Samsung Messager Touch's camera has mediocre photo quality. There's also no quick access to the e-mail or browser applications.

The Samsung Messager Touch's touch screen and keyboard make it a great multimedia messaging handset for U.S. Cellular.

Samsung Messager Touch SCH-R630 (Cricket Wireless)

I had few complaints about the colorful, if cluttered UI. Unlike earlier budget touch screen devices I've reviewed, the Messager Touch was relatively responsive. This is a small device with a small touch screen; there's no getting around that. But it...

Good keyboard. Loud speakerphone. Colorful UI. Free GPS navigation. Value priced

Short battery life. Useless for video recording or playback

The Samsung Messager Touch has a few flaws here and there, but it's a good deal for anyone looking for unlimited texting and WAP browsing on the cheap.

"One of the better phones I've had."

Holds charge well, great call quality, html web-browsing, easily personalized with wallpapers and unique ringtones, nice speakerphone, decent pre-loaded apps, compact.

Lower profile QWERTY keyboard buttons make for slower texting and more mistakes, touch screen not as intuitive as other phones, mediocre camera, text messaging limited to 150 characters per text, no multiple page texts.

"This phone SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!"

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.......IT SUCKS! If I can keep just one person from making the mistake of buying it i will be happy!

It's a touch screen which was better then my last phone....that's about it!

I miss calls and messages, people ask me all the time why I keep sending them the same txt message, it turns off and back on all the time on it's own, its slow, there's something going on with the memory card. I have taken it out, taken the battery out tu

Gets the job done with a couple of perks.

I've had this phone for about a year now, I wanted something close to an android but at a much lower price and I was content with this. It's a touch screen with various perks such as timer on the camera, a cricket navigator gps (which i used quite a...

Music player was a definite plus ; Touch screen response is good ; Calls were audible ; Keyboard was easy to text with ; Easy to use ; I dropped it MANY times in various places including cement steps & still had no problems, VERY durable ; SD ca

Not fond of apps such as the facebook & twitter ; Unable to use Youtube on this phone ; Internal memory without SD card is horrible

Basic Phone w/Mediocre Perks

Compact, quick touch scroll, decent battery life (when charged properly), solid slider, good for a basic, non-smart phone

For my 1st touch screen, I expected better responsiveness ; Worst part about this phone is the alarm. I used the alarm daily before it would randomly not go off. I found when you receive a text, it blocks the alarm (and for other unknown reasons). Also

Basic Phone w/Mediocre Perks

Basic non-smart phone with a few touch screen glitches. Have had phone for over 9-mo. and though I'm not 100% impressed, you get what you pay for. (I miss my old Red Razr!)
