Samsung :) Smiley (black, T-Mobile)

You can always count on Samsung do it two things: bury us in new cell phone reviews, and occasionally announce handsets with rather silly names. On that last point, the Innov8, the TwoStep, and the Sunburst are prime examples, and don't get CNET's copy...

The Samsung Smiley has a functional midrange feature set and respectable call quality

The Samsung Smiley's keyboard is a tad cramped and offers few shortcut keys. Some messaging options require use of the Web browser

If you don't mind the small keyboard and can get past the cringe-inducing name, T-Mobile's Samsung Smiley is an easy-to-use messaging phone.

Samsung :) SGH-T359 (T-Mobile)

The menu system looks like an inflated version of the Gravity 3. That means wireframe icons, and a silly, default carousel of icons that you can switch to a more usable grid view. Two e-mail clients—one for Webmail and ISPs, the other for Exchange...

Sharp, bright screen. Good build quality. Includes 3G and GPS, plus free Google Maps directions (without voice)

Poor camera. No voice dialing. Non-standard headphone jack

The Smiley has the silliest name for a gadget I've heard in quite some time; while it's a perfectly decent messaging device for not much cash, other T-Mobile phones offer more value.

Samsung Smiley :) Review

Let us present to you the phone with the worst name ever, the Samsung :). The :)- which we will refer to as Smiley from here on out- thankfully isn't as bad as its name. This low-end portrait slider features a decidedly low-end set of specs, but what...

Review: Samsung Smiley

Samsung tries to move up the entry level in messaging phones.

Very inexpensive ; Good voice quality ; Wi-Fi a rarity in the class ; Decent GPS app ; Capable social networking and e-mail

Cramped keyboard ; Archaic menu layout ; Mediocre camera ; Name may put off adults

Hardware and designThe Smiley weighs in at a fairly average four ounces, and there is nothing especially striking about its design other than the (increasingly common) vertical portrait slider form factor. Exterior volume and camera buttons are

Samsung :) Smiley Review

The Samsung Smiley is a basic model messaging phone with all common features and a fair performance with a price as low as $19.99. Samsung's new Smiley is definitely going to cheer you up as you progress with this review to learn about the details of it.

Named after an emoticon, the Samsung Smiley can really cheer you up with a price tag of just $19.99 with a two year contract. With such a low price, it is no doubt good value for a GPS-enabled 3G messaging phone with a QWERTY keyboard and battery life...

Nice looking phone but bad connectivity.

If you're looking for a good phone...keep looking. Looks cool, but in use it's awful.

Good size ; Streamlined look ; Nice keyboard

Bad Connectivity ; Calls turn to static ; Wasted upgrade and am stuck in a 2 year agreement with this phone
