Samsung Tocco Icon review

The Samsung Tocco Icon GT-S5260 is an updated version of the brand's popular Tocco Lite and looks fairly similar, although it does throw a few extras into the mix - with the key update being the step up from a resistive touchscreen to a capacitive...

Compact, slick design, good call quality, affordable, easy to use, large screen

Poor screen resolution, tiny memory, basic apps, small onscreen keys

A very affordable entry-level touchscreen phone that's easy to use, but there is no 3G and web browsing capability is basic

Style icon or fashion disaster? We put this Wi-Fi-enabled feature phone through its paces.

Capacitive touch layer ; Strong design

Unreliable touchscreen performance ; Terrible app/games support ; Limited widget library

It's not all surface-level sheen though. The Tocco Icon improves on 2009's Lite model with Wi-Fi and a capacitive, rather than resistive, touchscreen. Is this enough to earn the Icon a place along 2011's phone catwalk though?

Samsung Tocco Icon review

The Tocco Icon is a feature phone that feels and operates like a smart phone. Its svelte frame and impressive battery life make it ideal for younger mobile users, but the lack of 3G connectivity will leave heavy net-surfers feeling a bit deflated.

Smart phone functions on a feature phone ; Compact size ; Impressive battery life

Speaker isn't powerful enough ; No 3G data connectivity

The distinction between smart phones and feature phones is usually quite clear, but the Tocco Icon certainly blurs the line somewhat. Samsung has been able to factor in a considerable number of smart phone hallmarks into this cheap device, including a...

The Samsung Tocco Icon is a stylish handset with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. Battery performance is excellent, but it needs a RAM boost.

Online the Tocco Icon retails for around £80 - a relatively low price considering you get WiFi and some useful - and has some really interesting features for anyone keen on social networking. Although this puts this in the same category as the Vodafone...

High-end smartphones are all the rage right now, but sometimesall you really want is a good quality phone that focuses on thebusiness of communicating. At least, that's the purpose ofSamsung's Tocco Icon, a good looking, compact slice of tech...

Svelte good looks, okay camera

Limited functionality compared to an entry level smartphone

The Samsung Tocco Icon has some good things going for it,but at a price that's getting close to a budget smart phone, you'llreally need to love the way it looks to part with your cash forit.

We review the Tocco Icon S5260, a budget touchscreen mobile from Samsung that isn't quite sure what it is

Cheap touchscreen handset, Long battery life, Lightweight

No 3G connectivity, Not as feature-rich as Android, Cheap feel

The Samsung Tocco Icon tries so hard to wow us with its budget touchscreen ways but there are better alternatives out there

Overall its a great phone for the money, but there are a few nagging issues that do let it down slightly, mainly the lack of flash and 3G. These are made up for however by the price and the superb battery life, which lasted a good few days straight out...

Quite a few good points for lthis little phone. Firstly the price, picked this up as an upgrade on O2 for my girlfriend at just £40, which is nothing for what you get. Touch screen is quick and responsive unlike alot of cheaper reactive screens in...

Lack of 3G is a downer, makes the web browsing very slow at times. There is no flash with the camera which was a supprise as you would expect it for most phones these days even ones as cheap as this.
