Samsung Intensity III (Verizon Wireless)

The Samsung Intensity III is a keyboarded messaging phone for Verizon Wireless customers that don't want to pay for a data plan.

Rugged build. Comfortable keyboard. Decent multimedia player.

Reflective screen with poor viewing angles. Mediocre camera.

Multimedia, Apps, and Conclusions Don't confuse this with a smartphone, though multimedia support is a little better here than on some other feature phones. You get 99MB of free internal storage, and a side-mounted microSD card slot that worked with my...

Samsung Intensity III (Verizon Wireless) review

The Samsung Intensity III is a simple feature phone from Verizon that is equipped with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Though it's low-tech (it has a mere 2-megapixel camera and a 2.4-inch screen), it satisfies military specs to withstand extreme...

The Samsung Intensity III has a durable design, reliable call quality, and a nifty "fake call" feature to help you escape awkward social situations.

The Intensity III has a few design flaws, isn't water-resistant, and gives poor photo quality.

The low specs, flat keyboard, and unattractive look outweigh the Samsung Intensity III's rugged design and call simulator.

Not too bad

I have friends who like to have "messaging wars" in which we send the same message over and over. But this phone auto-deletes repeats of messages, and it gets a bit annoying.

Durable

Riddled with bugs.

I've had this phone for probably a year now and it screws me over almost daily. Although it is an extremely durable phone, I did manage to break the screen today which actually makes me happy as now I have an excuse to get rid of this thing.

Very well constructed, removable battery, great battery life

Keylock is rendered useless, full of bugs, banner ads (sort of)

"Good for texting -- you will be fairly happy with it."

Even though I have worked in engineering and science in the computing industry since the early 80's, I will not switch to a smart phone until data plans are free and smartphone battery life is as long as a "feature phone". I want my phone to be...

Faster processor sends texts and pictures faster than my four-year old phone. You can remove some of the home screen icons you don't use. Boots in 22 seconds (faster than many). Battery lasts 2-3 days. Continued refinement of the feature phone.

The keyboard should be better. The keyboard is the entire reason for this phone to exist. It is hard to text as fast as I want to. I use my thumbnails to hit the keys and I find if I hit the edge of the keys they don't work (or take more effort).

great texting and internet but LED backlight broke

Great phone while it lasted, which was only 2 weeks. The phone was never dropped; it was handled as well as past phones but because the LED backlight burst and Samsung offered no replacement or discount, will not purchase a Samsung again.

keyboard is good, internet browsing easy.

Had the phone for 2 weeks, carried it about 80% of the time in purse, 20% in front pocket. The LED backlight burst leaving the phone useless. Samsung would do nothing except offer the same phone for $300. Looking to switch to LG after this.

Key Words "BASIC PHONE"

I've had a LG 8300 flip phone for the last 8 years and I believe this Samsung Intensity III will last me untill smartphone rates are lowered. I was actually surprised how fast this phone connected to the internet (not that I will use that feature much...

Price, Easy to use

Wish the camera had a flash

"Bad Bluetooth x2"

Good battery life.

I too am having the same issues. I am on my second phone. I've now done a master re-set but have no bluetooth at this time to test. Not too confident the issue resolving itself. The tech seemed to think I'll wait for a software update. Nah.
