Samsung Alias 2 SCH-U750 (Verizon Wireless)

The Samsung Alias 2 is an inventive update to Samsung's previous messaging phone. Provided you can afford it, and learn how to use it, it's a powerful messaging device with reliable performance.

The Samsung Alias 2 has an innovative keypad that takes different forms depending on how you're using the phone. Its feature set is well-stocked and its overall performance for calls, video, and music is satisfying

The Samsung Alias 2's navigation controls take acclimation. The phone lacks Wi-Fi and POP3 e-mail access is limited to a Web-based interface. Also, adding up the various data features is expensive

Samsung Zeal SCH-u750 (Verizon Wireless) review: Samsung Zeal SCH-u750 (Verizon Wireless)

The Samsung Zeal has a unique two-way flip design with an innovative e-ink keyboard and handy external music controls. It accepts up to 32GB of expandable memory.

Samsung's proprietary charging port is inconvenient, and the Zeal's call quality could be better.

Fans of the Samsung Alias 2 should love the Samsung Zeal's identical convertible flip design and e-ink keyboard. However, if you're not open to a learning curve, the Zeal has little new to offer.

Samsung Alias 2 Review

Priced at $79.99, the Alias 2 is in the same league as excellent clamshell devices such as the LG Chocolate 3 (which costs just $10 more), and other full QWERTY messaging devices such as the enV2 (which costs $10 less). Both of those phones are...

Excellent E-Ink keyboard, Solid dual-hinge design, Excellent call quality, Affordably priced

Awkwardly placed D-pad, Somewhat bulky, No 3.5 mm headphone jack

"People with the negative rating, you have 2 own 1!"

For the people that have reviewed this phone negatively, I think you have probably never owned this phone and are bagging on it because you have nothing else to do, but I'll just cut to the chase, this phone is AWESOME. I had used the Alias and the...

The camera, the video capability, the keyboard's neat E-ink technology which never fails, unlike the glitching on the alias2, and audio is better

The keys are a bit on the small side, oh well.
