Sharp FX (AT&T)

The Sharp FX features an internal broadcast TV tuner, a touch screen, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but it's a poor, buggy performer in practice.

Pleasantly retro styling. Includes broadcast mobile TV tuner. 3.5mm headphone jack.

Poor reception. No voice dialing. Blurry, stubborn screen. Buggy camera. Bloatware-infested. A little heavy. Required $20-per-month messaging plan kills value.

Other Apps, Multimedia, and Conclusions The bundled Opera Mini Web browser worked well as usual. But it looked as if it were butchering desktop HTML pages, thanks to the ultra-slow data connection. AT&T Navigator offers TeleNav-powered voice directions...

Sharp FX - black (AT&T) review

Though the Sidekick (T-Mobile) is dead , its legacy lives on with the Sharp FX for AT&T. Indeed, the FX looks much like the late T-Mobile handset, which is fitting considering Sharp supplied the design and materials behind many models marching under...

With a touch screen to complement its full QWERTY keyboard, the Sharp FX's design has a lot to offer texters. Multitasking is a perk, and we appreciate the social-networking shortcuts and carrier features like AT&T Navigator and AT&T Mobile TV.

The Sharp FX's touch screen is laggy, and the cramped menus are frustrating. Also, the mediocre call quality cast a shadow on what would otherwise be a promising phone.

The Sharp FX has plenty of multimedia features and additional services to occupy socialites and text-happy users, but mediocre call quality and some usability flaws keep it from fulfilling its complete potential.

Sharp FX Review

During the glory days before today's modern smartphones dominated the airwaves with their youth oriented attractions, the Sidekick line of devices managed to enthrall the hip and young crowd with its meticulous attention on social features....

Sharp FX Review

Learn more about the Sharp FX mobile and see how well it rates in regards to design and user interface. With a touchscreen and a full slide down QWERTY keyboard the Sharp FX is a versatile device.

The Sharp FX is a midrange device costing $99.99 after rebates and offering decent phone quality and performance. The FX is said to be most suitable as a youth oriented device because of its innovative and unique design and classical keyboard...

Sharp FX Review by Sydney

The Good: Stylish design; beautiful WQVGA display; solid QWERTY keyboard; 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Stylish design; beautiful WQVGA display; solid QWERTY keyboard; 3.5 mm headphone jack

2 megapixel camera with no flash; sliding mechanism on the keyboard is a bit wobbly; a few strange UI quirks here and there

The Sharp FX is a great high-end messaging phone, but don't expect it to replace your smartphone. Expect the same limitations and shortcomings that come with all messaging phones.

Review: Sharp FX

Sharp fields its first phone for AT&T. The FX is a quick messaging device that carries forward Sharp's messaging phone lineage, though it's not the sharpest knife in the messaging phone drawer.

Sharp FX from AT&T reminds us of the Sidekick

Coming in with an amazing slide out QWERTY keypad that gives ergonomic handsets a run for their money, the Sharp FX has been introduced in all formal glory by, who else, AT&T. The camera could have been better but you have to make do with a 2 megapixel...

"This is absolutely the worst phone I have ever owned."

When I am on a call, frequently it drops the call, or it does something even worse.. it mutes me apparently and I can obviously still hear the other person, but my call screen has disappeared as if I am not even on a call and I can't do anything until...

There is not a single good thing about this phone.

"Slow smart phone knock-off."

If you're in the market for a new basic phone, please for the love of God just get a flip phone or something. Don't try to masquerade a smart phone with this piece of garbage. The touchscreen is so slow you could make yourself a cup of coffee in the...
