Sony Ericsson W395 Review

Feature phones do not enjoy much popularity lately, especially when compared to smartphones that, in turn, are getting more and more advanced. Sony Ericsson managed to win recognition as a leading manufacturer of feature phones based on specific...

Sony Ericsson W395

Essentially, this is a slider version of the existing W302. There's a pretty comprehensive media player, FM radio and stereo Bluetooth. The W395 ships with a 1GB memory card in the box, which is enough for a modest amount of music.

A cheap new Walkman music phone which gets the job done

High quality walkman player ; 1GB Memory Stick bundled ; Stereo speakers ; FM radio included

Camera is fairly poor ; No 3G connection ; No flash for camera ; Basic browser ; Clunky email setup

There's plenty more it could have packed in, but as it stands, its key features – including that loud loudspeaker - will have plenty of appeal for its younger target audience who are after a high quality tune-playing mobile that's got enough of the...

Can the W395 live up to the Walkman name?

Price, build quality, keyboard, stereo speakers built-in

A basic handset with limited spec that is a fair operator, but with a few noticeable shortcomings

Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman review

The Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman's screen and camera aren't wonderful, but, in pretty much every other respect, this phone puts in a better performance than you'd expect from a mobile with such a low price tag

Good music player ; Decent headphones ; Excellent build quality

Poor camera ; Small keypad

Conclusion The Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman boasts an excellent music player, great on-board speakers and a decent line-up of features. Its budget nature may be evident in its low-resolution screen and basic camera, but, in pretty much every other...

Sony Ericsson W395 Review

Compared to many other phones around at the moment, you'll barely notice the weight of the W395 in your pocket.

What is given with one hand (1GB microSD card) is taken away with the other (proprietary headphone jack), making this a phone of compromises, and ultimately, means it pleases no one.

Sony Ericsson W395 Review

Sony Ericsson is gradually moving towards concentrating on mid to high range handsets, but there's no denying that the Swedish manufacturer's current portfolio includes a phone for all, and the W395 hits the low-to-mid budget, just above the W205 in...

The Sony Ericsson W395 is far from perfect, especially as it has a relatively high price compared to other budget phones, and the low quality camera for both imaging and video is inexcusable. The saving grace is the decent Walkman music player, and...

A Sony Ericsson Slider Phone : Sony Ericsson W395

With colours that include Blush and Dusty in their description, it has to be another Sony Ericsson handset that has been the focus of my attention

Other features available with this handset include MMS, SMS, email and motion gaming (three games are provided as standard). The usual array of PDA-style applications such as timer, alarm clock, calendar, address book and calculator are included

Sony Ericsson W395 review

The Sony Ericsson W395 is a budget music phone that channels the music playing skills of the outfit's Japanese parent, and stuffs them into a cheery handset with a low pricetag. But is it low enough? Read on and find out in our full Sony Ericsson W395...

Feels just like a Walkman, decent speaker

No 3.5mm audio

A fun, cheap phone if all you want is music
