RUBBISH at upgrading

Good machine but why-oh-why can't SE upgrade to the latest version of Android? They've just released X10 MiniPro complete with 2.3 Gingerbread so why can't they release v2.3 for upgrading older machines? I would not recommend as SE lumber you with increasingly outdated equipment which is unable to run the latest software. RUBBISH

Hiding the truth

The earlier versions of this phone had a charging problem (so i was informed by a salesperson) which meant many were returned for repair to the charging port. Apparently it was comming loose and charging was not completing. So sony ericsson 'solved' the problem by attaching a blob of resin within the unit. This i know as i have just returned my x10 mini pro to the sales team within two months of purchasing it new, at first it developed an intermitent charging problem - which i thought was my fault for not connecting the phone correctly - and then stopped chagring at all. Its the same fault as previous which was coverd by SE; but it's not covered for repair under warrenty any longer! And its come back as beyond economic repair!! So a new £120 phone cannot be repaired despite the fault being something SE have had to deal with already. Yeh right - cop out guys...this is so c**p. My other phone (basic Nokia) was run over by a car in a car park - repaired within a week and returned to me as good as new. Looking at some of the other forums, and talking to the sales team, suggests this is not an isolated incident; I know 3 other x10 mini pro phones with same problem were returned to our small phone centre in my area - either we are all very clumsy or there is a design fault SE are not owing up too. I will ensure as many people as possible know about this terrible service...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro - User Review

Sony's Xperia Mini Pro is the perfect phone for those who desire a small yet feature-rich phone. The Xperia Mini Pro is the successor to the Xperia X10 Mini Pro phone, which also features a slide-out keyboard. So what's new in this phone? Let's see.

The Xperia Mini Pro is a great phone to have especially for its compact size and QWERTY keypad. It has got the looks and a long list of features. In short it has *almost* everything an Xperia Arc has packed into a tiny phone. It’s a great deal...

Sony Ericsson XPERIA mini pro Review

Take a cursory glance at the smartphone market and you'd be forgiven for assuming bigger always means better. Android smartphones are already available with vast screens, rumors suggest the iPhone 5 will introduce a larger display, and Windows Phone...

If messaging is your primary distraction, whether IM, SMS, MMS or email, the XPERIA mini pro is a surprisingly good option. Smaller than many feature-phones, yet offering the multitasking and app options of a smartphone OS, plus a very usable physical...

Xperia Mini Pro review

There was a time, not too long ago, when having the smallest phone was a mark of prestige for handset manufacturers. Then HTC came along and convinced us that 4.3-inch smartphones are actually pretty useful, closely followed by...

Excellent keyboard ; Much cheaper than comparable phones ; Improves on X10 Mini Pro in most respects

Resolution is still pretty low ; Chunky, less pocketable than most ; Software isn’t perfect

The few cutbacks Sony Ericsson has made appear reasonable and mostly peripheral

Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro review: No small affair

Sony Ericsson have always done a good job of putting big ideas in a small package. The original Xperia mini lineup wasn't ridiculously powerful but had plenty of personality. The pint-sized smartphones did well on the market and you...

Quad-band GSM /GPRS/EDGE support ; 3G with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA ; 3" 16M-color capacitive LED-backlit LCD touchscreen, HVGA res (320 x 480), Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine ; Full four-row, slide-out QWERTY keyboard ; Android OS v2.3...

No smart dialing ; No DivX/XviD video support out of the box ; Doubtful video recording quality

We can imagine the Arc and the Xperia Pro calling this one junior. Not even a hint of condescension in that though. The Xperia mini pro has the same hardware as its bigger Xperia siblings, a fact that makes the level of miniaturization all the more...

Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro Review

There are not many phone manufacturers nowadays that are brave enough to venture outside of the well-known and safe field of doing large black slabs, stuffed with dual-core processors. Indeed, from design standpoint, the times are much simpler now than...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro Review

Power comes in all sizes.

Very fast; Snugly fits in your pocket or palm; Full QWERTY keyboard; Good design; Gingerbread comes pre-installed

Keyboard can become uncomfortable after long use; Cumbersome browsing experience

The real magic begins when you slide out the keyboard, which looks, for lack of a better word, cute. The first thing you’ll notice is that the keyboard is nicely spaced, with Function and Symbol keys to use the alternate keys. The full QWERTY keyboard...

We also got a chance to play with the Xperia Mini‘s slightly chubbier sibling (not that the original wasn't on the portly side itself). The specs are the same as the Mini, 1 Ghz Snapdragon, 5 MP shooter with 720p recording. Although we've been assured...
