Sony Xperia Neo L Review

The Neo L made an appearance quite a few months back along with Sony's Nxt series. This phone is a successor to the Neo V and it sports an identical design, though the major improvements include a larger display and Ice Cream Sandwich. However, at a...

Even though few of the other similar (and cheaper) priced Xperias are dual core ones, they offer little more in the real world than this one. We put the Neo L through a range of synthetic benchmarks and they can be seen below. We’ve compared the phone...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V Review

One of the newer devices that recently rolled out of the Sony Ericsson shed is the Xperia Neo V. Designed to offer high-end like features at a reasonable price, the Neo V could mean serious competition for the likes of Motorola, Spice, among others....

With a price tag of Rs.18,500 (MOP) the Neo V, even with it’s few shortcomings is quite a value for money handset, especially since there aren’t too many in this price bracket that can compete. On the whole it functions well enough to be enjoyed and...

Sony Xperia neo L review: Blast from the past

The Sony Xperia neo L is trying to break into an already well-populated market of affordable smartphones that give you a loud bang for your buck. It's a hotly contested game, but the neo L doesn't come unprepared. It has Sony's screen and camera...

Quad-band GSM /GPRS/EDGE support ; 3G with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA ; 4" 16M-color capacitive LED-backlit LCD touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels) ; Android OS v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich ; 1 GHz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 205 GPU, 512...

Display has poor viewing angles ; Very limited video codec support ; No HDMI port as on the older neo models ; No FM radio as on the older neo models ; No hardware camera shutter key as on the older neo models ; Memory card slot under the battery

The Sony Xperia neo L is a decent phone (though the build quality fails to impress ) that showed up late to the party. It's clearly an old design from the Sony Ericsson era - and those phones were a bit behind the times to begin with.

Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V review: Five to go

Do we cancel the show if the star is not available? This one must've crossed some minds over at Sony Ericsson when the Xperia Neo had to be discontinued. But no, they didn't cancel it. The crew was told to take five instead while they skimmed ...

Quad-band GSM /GPRS/EDGE support ; 3G with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA ; 3.7" 16M-color capacitive LED-backlit LCD touchscreen of FWVGA resolution (480 x 854 pixels) on Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine ; Android OS v2.3.4 Gingerbread ; 1 GHz Scorpion...

Forced camera downgrade to 5MP ; Display has poor viewing angles ; The competition has dual-core CPUs, 1080p video ; No smart dialing ; Loudspeaker has below average performance ; Very limited video codec support ; Memory card slot under the battery cover

The Xperia neo V is not an upgrade of the original Neo. It’s actually a downgrade forced by circumstances. The only difference is the camera sensor - down from 8 to 5 megapixels - and the more recent Android version. Sounds so little, doesn't it?...

Xperia Neo

Not every smartphone needs to be a Samsung Galaxy S II. There's plenty of room in the market for a reliable workhorse that delivers smooth productivity and media without maxing out your credit limit. The Xperia Neo aspires to precisely this grounded...

Decent build quality ; Vibrant screen ; Mostly vanilla Android

Two-minute boot time ; Native camera app over-compresses images ; Hard to type accurately, especially in portrait

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo Review

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo arrives with something of a personality problem. Where the XPERIA Play was resolute in its gaming ambitions, and the XPERIA Arc promised to put Sony's living room prowess into a pocket-friendly package, the Neo takes on the...

The mainstream phone market is more competitive than ever, and the Neo faces competition not just from its spec-for-spec rivals but from high-end devices with aggressive subsidies. The key strength is the camera, though whether that would be enough to...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo preview: First look

Sony Ericsson is keen to start 2011 in style with strong additions to the XPERIA lineup to please every taste. The Arc is the one true flagship, the Pro is the business messenger and the Play is the gaming smartphone. What's...

An important thing we know at the end of this quick preview is it’s worth waiting for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo. And it’s not going to be a long wait.

Sony Xperia neo L Review

The Sony Xperia neo L is the latest Android handset by the Japanese phone maker and it tries to strike the right balance between price and functionality…

Comes with ICS on board ; Spacious screen, with high pixel density for its class

Stutters occasionally ; Plasticky, very cheap feel ; Screen lacks oleophobic coating, looks like a mess after a while

The Sony Xperia neo L is an interesting handset that tries to bring a 4-inch screen for a relatively affordable price tag. The spacious display with Bravia technology for punchier colors despite our criticism towards it is one of its assets, especially...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Reviewed

A review of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, the last of the single core phones of this age, does it have what it takes to compete with the dual core big boys? We aim to find out in our review of the Neo.

As a smartphone, the Xperia Neo is a bit on the dumb side really, considering its price tag and high end mid-range pedigree, it should have been more capable, smarter and functional, almost all of its rivals in the same category are ahead of it.

Product Specifications

Sharp pictures and shining movie memories are just one smartphone away. With an 8.1 megapixel camera and HD quality video, the Xperia neo lets you capture every precious moment and view them over and over again on a razor sharp display.
