Xperia X1 Review

The Xperia X1 was one of the most anticipated smart phone of 2008. It came to the market very late, [...]

The Xperia X1 is a smart phone with an excellent construction, display and processor. It is best used with a Microsoft Exchange Server, but Active Sync and POP or IMAP should work OK too. The X1 was the best Windows Mobile phone before the recent...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play review

The PlayStation Phone. We've had quite the intimate history with this gamepad-equipped slider, learning of its secretive existence way back in August and then handling a prototype unit in January, so you'll forgive us for feeling sentimental and still...

Gamepad works well ; Stereo speakers ; Good graphics performance

Dim, woeful screen ; Lack of compelling content ; Poor video recording (no 720p)

Sony Ericsson Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

Sony Ericsson's first Windows Mobile device, the Xperia X1, got a lot of buzz last year for its slick and customizable software interface and stylish design. Although the Sony Xperia X1 is a feature-packed, well-designed handset with excellent...

Slick Windows Mobile overlay ; Eye-catching ergonomic design

Expensive, even for an unlocked phone ; Windows Mobile is sluggish

Though the stylish Xperia X1 offers a variety of features, it can't compete with less expensive smart phones on the market.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

The X1's good looks and strong hardware are hampered by frequent performance lag, an unintuitive user experience and its jaw-dropping price tag.

Sharp, business-like design, Arc Slider and QWERTY keyboard, Full range of connectivity, Hi-res display

Frequent lag spikes, Average battery life, Most available Xperia Panels are poorly designed

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 review: A new experience

There's a lot to fall for in Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. Possibly the hottest looker of a PocketPC is also heavy on skill. Heavy enough to not just scratch out a living as a one-hit-wonder but aim for the WinMo top. The extra solid metal looks, gorgeous...

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

The super-luxe, unlocked Xperia X1 would be a decent Windows Mobile smartphone choice if it cost half as much.

Powerful processor. New Panel interface is the best Windows Mobile home-screen hack so far. Opera browser.

Insanely expensive. Buggy. Not a great voice phone.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 - A Review of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

This Windows Mobile phone boasts an exquisite physical design and a unique user interface, but it carries too high a price tag.

Beautiful industrial design, Innovative user interface, Clear call quality, Good camera

Very expensive, X Panels slow to load, Paltry amount of X Panel add-ins, Lackluster keyboard

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 uses Outlook Mobile. We set up our Gmail account in less than a minute, thanks to Windows Mobile 6.1's ability to search for preconfigured settings over the Internet. Our work e-mail account took less than 2 minutes to set...

Review: Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

We've been waiting since CTIA to get our mitts on a fully baked X1. As the full-featured flagship of Sony Ericsson's multimedia phones we had...

Full featured yet surprisingly sturdy. 800 x 480 touchscreen is both highly responsive and razor sharp. Rockstar battery life for calls, standby and even web use. Decent data speeds over 3G and WiFi. Tweakable status lights range from discreet to...

Essentially a lazy, fragmented and expensive implementation of legitimately good ideas. QWERTY pad feels unnecessarily flat and lacks arrow keys. Optical joypad is waaaay too recessed to be useful. Lengthy pitches for Sony Ericsson, Xperia and WinMo...

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 review:

When it rains, it pours. In recent weeks, we've seen the release of a number of highly anticipated smartphones, including the RIM BlackBerry Bold and the T-Mobile G1 , and now we have the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. First announced at GSMA 2008 in...

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 features an interactive panel interface that lets you customize the smartphone to your wants and needs. The Windows Mobile device also has an attractive design and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Without U.S.-carrier backing, the Xperia X1 has an exorbitant price tag. The navigation controls are difficult to use, and the Web browsing experience wasn't the greatest.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is a well-designed and fully stocked smartphone that offers great customization through the interactive panel interface. However, with its high price tag, the X1 will be a hard sell for most customers and will be a purely...
