Sony Xperia TL (AT&T)

The Sony Xperia TL ($99.99) is what the Sony Xperia Ion should have been. And had it come out back in June, it would have been a contender for top Android smartphone on AT&T. Now it's just a good phone for a good price. There's a lot to like, from its...

Fast performance. Good camera. Nice display

Bloatware. A little heavy

The Xperia TL for AT&T brings Sony up to speed with a fast, reasonably priced smartphone that will please average users and James Bond aficionados alike.

The new $99.99 Xperia TL is the phone I've been waiting for from Sony for quite a while. Frankly it's the handset the Xperia Ion should have been. Thanks to a swift 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and a camera that snaps high-quality images,...

Sony's new $99 Xperia TL has a swift processor, 4G LTE, long battery life, and a powerful camera.

The Sony Xperia TL is heavy, and its conservative looks don't pack much of a punch.

The Sony Xperia TL is a fantastic value and Sony's best U.S. smartphone yet.

Sony Xperia TL (AT&T)

The Sony Xperia TL delivers fast performance, long battery life, a sharp camera and handy NFC features for a good price.

Strong performance and graphics; Vivid display; Excellent battery life; Sharp 13-MP camera; Clever NFC features

Design somewhat bland; Weak audio; Sluggish upload speeds

Click to EnlargeGimmicky movie tie-ins aside, the Sony Xperia TL is a very good mid-level Android phone. For $99, consumers get a large HD display, a powerful processor and long battery life. And while the 13-MP isn't the fastest on the block, it...

"Fast and Solid alternative to S3 or One X"

I upgraded to the TL from a pantech crossover which I loved, it was just too slow. I enjoyed the simple interface that allowed me to turn on/off wifi, GPS, alarms, and bluetooth from the pull down bar. The TL does not have all of these option. You can...

Good size, Nice Screen, Fast Processor

Camera can have hard time focusing in low light, non removable battery, bloatware, hard to get to some settings

"An awful tease."

Some of this may be unavoidable, as far as AT&T phones go, but for this phone in particular, I found that in order to truly get the most out of it, I will have to root it. Also, during routine use, one may find that the hardware buttons are placed...

Sleek, modern profile allows the phone's speaker to actually be heard well. The display is crisp and high definition.

The battery is not removable, and the device comes with an absurd amount of junk apps, many of which cannot be truly removed. The touch screen is sometimes accurate, and other times way off. Wimpy battery.
