Sony XPERIA Z3/Z3v Review

Marketed with “Demand Great” by Sony, the XPERIA Z3 is a high-end phone that has a lot of attributes that are attractive: a thin metal and glass design, an IP65/68 ruggedness rating (water and dust...

The Sony XPERIA Z3 is an excellent evolution of the XPERIA line, and it is fair to say that Sony has improved virtually every aspects of the remarkable XPERIA Z2 handset. If the XPERIA Z3 shipped closer to its launch date, its success would have been...

Sony Xperia Z3 Smartphone Review

A rapid update yet again. Apparently, Sony aims to attract attention with a new top smartphone every 6 months. The user can only benefit from it: Although the innovations are small, our test proves that the Xperia Z3 is still a top smartphone.

nice materials, stylish design with rounded corners, dust and water protected, great cameras, very good connectivity, very bright display, very clear voice quality, numerous accessories are available, Remote Play with PlayStation 4, very good battery...

back side is a bit slippery, prone to fingerprints, bluish display, battery is not replaceable, low internal memory, GPS is partly inaccurate, speakers are only good average, shorter battery life under load than predecessor

Existing customers might take offense that Sony rapidly updates their products: They might just have bought the Xperia Z2 and the new model is already available, which is even better in several respects.

Review: Sony Xperia Z3

With the Xperia Z3, Sony once again makes a fantastic piece of hardware that's marred by horrible software.

Great looking hardware. Snappy processor and plenty of RAM make the Z3 a speed demon. Shoots 4K video. Waterproof up to 5 feet ; TIRED

Glass back makes it a fingerprint magnet—and a slippery one at that. I dropped and shattered mine. Finicky camera produces inconsistent photos. Stability issues aplenty. Mystifying software choices, including pointless redesigns of great stock Android...

Sony Xperia Z3 (T-Mobile)

The slender, long-lasting Sony Xperia Z3 appears iterative, but delivers one of the most roundly excellent Android experiences on T-Mobile and features exclusive PlayStation 4 game streaming capability.

Slim, refined design. Dust- and water-resistant. Excellent camera. Long battery life. PS4 game streaming.

Wi-Fi could be faster. Sony and T-Mobile bloat.

Sony Xperia Z3 review: Superb design and capabilities that best the Apple iPhone 6

Sony doesn't release too many smartphones on US carriers, but T-Mobile has a real winner here with the Z3. Matthew not only tested one out, he bought his own and put aside the iPhone 6 Plus.

Sony has a limited presence in the US with most of its devices being sold either overseas or at the US Sony Store as unlocked models for AT&T and T-Mobile customers. Verizon just recently launched the Sony Xperia Z3v, which is a variation of the Z3 I...

Sony Xperia Z3v ( white)

The main differences are battery life and, well, design. There's no way about it: Verizon's Z3v is not as attractive a phone as the standard Z3. In fact, it looks more like the earlier Xperia Z2 .

The Sony Xperia Z3v is a top-notch Android phone that's waterproof for up to 30 minutes, can stream games from a nearby PlayStation 4 via Remote Play, and has expandable storage.

The design is a throwback to earlier Xperia models, and not as slick as the standard Xperia Z3.

Sony's variant on the Xperia Z3 is nearly the same excellent overall phone on Verizon, albeit with a slightly dated external design.

Sony Xperia Z3v review:

Shopping for phones can sometimes be a maddening process: what makes one variation different than another? Let's say you've been craving Sony's latest Xperia Z3 , a really good and stylish phone. It's available in the U.S. via T-Mobile. But if you're a...

Sony Xperia Z3v (Verizon Wireless)

The Xperia Z3v marks Sony's triumphant return to Verizon, offering high-end specs and features without some of the compromises of its smartphone peers.

Attractive, modern design. Waterproof. Refined software with useful tweaks. Qi wireless charging

On the thick and heavy side. Tons of bloatware

Sony's in the midst of a mobile revival, but for all of the positive critical response, the Japanese monolith seems to have fallen out of favor with major U.S. carriers as of late. The Xperia Z3v ($199.99 with contract) is the first Sony cell phone to...

It's got powerful internals, a 20-megapixel camera, and a version of Android that isn't annoying to look at—hopefully a stint at Verizon will help it reach more users.

Bright, vibrant display with customizable settings ; Water and dust proof—mostly life proof ; Front-facing stereo speakers for groovin

Camera can be a bit inconsistent depending on lighting situation

The Xperia Z3v's powerful hardware and neat bundled features are also a perfect example of what Sony is capable of when it takes its time with a product.
