Sony Xperia Z3 review: Overall a great package, but priced outrageously at Rs 51,990

Sony had already announced its flagship smartphone – the Xperia Z2 – at this years Mobile World Congress and the units started appearing on the market May onwards. It has been just four months since, and Sony has already announced another flagship...

Sony Xperia Z3 impresses on most counts. Apart from the heating issue, there was barely anything major to criticise. The camera performance and battery life performance in particular are quite good. The refinements in the design are a welcome change,...

Review: Sony Xperia Z3

With the Xperia Z3, Sony once again makes a fantastic piece of hardware that's marred by horrible software.

Great looking hardware. Snappy processor and plenty of RAM make the Z3 a speed demon. Shoots 4K video. Waterproof up to 5 feet ; TIRED

Glass back makes it a fingerprint magnet—and a slippery one at that. I dropped and shattered mine. Finicky camera produces inconsistent photos. Stability issues aplenty. Mystifying software choices, including pointless redesigns of great stock Android...

Sony Xperia Z3v review

The Android world is jam-packed with great phones that also have great, compelling designs — the new Moto X and HTC's excellent One M8 both immediately come to mind as phones I want to look at and caress as much as I want to use. This isn't the first...

Fast performance ; Great battery life ; Good camera

Clumsy, dated design ; Lots of bloatware

Not exactly the Z3 you're looking for

It's got powerful internals, a 20-megapixel camera, and a version of Android that isn't annoying to look at—hopefully a stint at Verizon will help it reach more users.

Bright, vibrant display with customizable settings ; Water and dust proof—mostly life proof ; Front-facing stereo speakers for groovin

Camera can be a bit inconsistent depending on lighting situation

The Xperia Z3v's powerful hardware and neat bundled features are also a perfect example of what Sony is capable of when it takes its time with a product.

Sony Xperia Z3 review: a classy flagship with great battery life

When you're trying to compete in the phone-making game, there are certain challenges. On the one hand, you want to dazzle customers with innovative

Fantastic battery life ; High-quality finish ; Great camera

Software feels a little dated

For a phone that, initially at least, looks a lot like the one it's meant to replace the Z3 has a few tricks up its sleeve. Best of all is the standout battery life. Android photographers will love the camera too. It's easy to recommend the Z3, unless...

Sony XPERIA Z3 ( black)

Sony's newest Z-series flagship phone didn't take long to arrive -- the Xperia Z2 was only announced earlier this year -- but in a flash it took its place as Sony's ultimate smartphone. It brings a new, refined design and is one of the first...

The Sony Xperia Z3 packs great battery life, a brilliant display, beautiful design and waterproof features. If you own a PS4, you'll also be able to play PS4 games remotely on your phone.

The UI can use updating -- all the icons just look way too big. While it may have a 20.7-megapixel camera, autofocus can be a little off, but nothing a quick tap on the screen can't fix.

The Sony Xperia Z3 is Sony's most formidable to date with a formidable display and promising features that easily give Android competition from HTC, LG and Samsung a run for their money.

Sony Xperia Z3 review: Hat trick

To say we are eager to get the Xperia Z3 out for a spin would be a massive understatement - with the race track still warm from the Compact. After all, if the Robin in Sony's IFA lineup can do that well, we can only imagine what Batman is capable of....

5.2" IPS LCD, 1080 x 1920 pixels, 424ppi, ambient light sensor ; LTE connectivity ; Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Xperia UI on top ; IP68 certified - dust and water proof up to 1.5 meter and 30 minutes ; Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with quad-core...

Non user-replaceable battery ; Slightly larger than most direct rivals

Sony Xperia Z3 Review

The Xperia Z3 upgrades only slightly on the Z2, but where it counts – it sports a faster processor, much brighter display, and an improved camera, in addition to being thinner and lighter than its predecessor, still keeping the high waterproof rating.

Thin and stylish waterproof body ; Bright display with excellent outdoor visibility ; Excellent battery life ; Good pictures and video quality ; Fantastic battery life

Comparatively large for the display size ; Very inaccurate screen colors in default mode ; Hollow-sounding earpiece

At first read, one might scoff at the seemingly modest Xperia Z3 upgrades against its Z2 predecessor. We are kind of liking Sony's approach, though, as it allows the company to stay on top of the bi-annual Android cycle of spring-fall flagships, while...

Sony Xperia Z3 review

With Sony's bi-annual release cycle, there is always a concern about what upgrades you get with every iteration. That is what we find out, and more in this in-depth review of the Sony Xperia Z3!

Further refined aesthetics ; Great display experience ; Great sound experience ; Sturdy, IP certified design ; Powerful camera ; Minimalistic but very useful Xperia UI

Upgrade might not be substantial for veteran users ; Performance package is a step behind current competition ; Best camera features are disjointed

Sony Xperia Z3 review

Has Sony added enough to warrant a Z2 sequel already?

Brilliant battery ; PS4 Remote Play is brilliant ; Premium build

Bugs in the operating system ; 4K still doesn't work properly

Like the Sony Xperia Z2, I don't know why the Z3 doesn't impress me hugely. On paper it's got all the right bits: 3GB of RAM, MHL 3.0, extended battery, high power camera etc.
