Review: HTC Hero / T-Mobile G2 Touch smartphone review

HTC UK was kind enough to send one of its new HTC Hero smartphones to our man Russ in the UK. He's put together a very in-depth written and video review of the latest and greatest Android smartphone, which features multi-touch zooming and the Sense UI.

Thanks Kris! Well, HTC thanked me, by letting me borrow an HD2 over the xmas period. That too, is a great phone - better than the Hero/G2 for web and YouTube, but the Hero has a better app store. I'd be torn between them if I was buying right now. ...

HTC Hero / T-Mobile G2 Touch review posted

I posted the Russell's full written HTC Hero review this morning on MobileBurn.com. It's about 3,000 words of Android goodness, and includes the... 3 part video review and the unboxing video that he shot for us earlier.

T-Mobile G2 Touch review

The T-Mobile G2 Touch can handle theoretical throughput speeds of up to 14.4 megabits per second. The G2 runs a newer version of Google Android (2.2, or Froyo), features a smart design with a pop-out physical QWERTY keyboard, has an 800MHz Snapdragon...

All in all I had no problems with the design and feel of the phone, and I'm encouraged by its performance on the HSPA+ network. But several things might make me hesitate before buying the G2. I was disappointed with the voice quality, underwhelmed by...

HTC Hero (G2 Touch)

This sleek Android smartphone with its capacitive touchscreen makes for a great iPhone alternative.

The HTC Hero is truly a superb phone and a real competitor to the iPhone range. The addition of multitouch, the flawed but still useful Flash support, plus the excellent HTC widgets make it a joy to use and place it significantly ahead of any previous...

A G2 Sucessor? Or Nexus Two?

The 2nd High-End Stock Android Phone(T-Mobile First 4G Phone)Sure there are other stock Android phones out there. The original G1 and the Motorola Droid came to mind. However, they're not considered high-end phones. ...

Constant error messages and bugs

It is far slower than the G1 and many applications that run fine on the G1 are met with constant messages e.g. It's impossible to locate your exact position with Google maps. The camera is ok but useless as its Picture Gallery does not load or is...

The G2 Touch is very slow at opening my applications, the screen freeze's all the time, you are unable to send or recieve any media items via bluetooth. The battery life is even worse and if your lucky will only last for 1 day. The only good thing ab...
