Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 Review

Designed to work with the Vodafone 360 services, the Samsung H1 is a high-end piece of mobile technology. It packs a large touch-sensitive screen and a brand new LiMo R2 operating system that has a pretty clean and easy to use interface. However, not...

Vodafone 360 H1 mobile phone

Voda has us running in circles

Screen resolution, web service makes contact management easy, good camera, HD video capture, 16GB internal memory

There isn't a compelling reason to opt for Vodafone 360 when rivals are so much more accessible and so much better integrated with the online services you want connect them to

Vodafone 360 H1 review

Screen resolution, web service makes contact management easy, good camera, HD video capture, 16GB internal memory

Buggy software, screen not responsive enough, frequent crashes, problems staying connected to network, poor app offering, lack of integration of existing services, hardware feels cheap

Having spent a fair amount of time with handsets offering a wide range of connected services, it's fair to say that the H1 doesn't offer an intuitive offering. It looks on paper as though it is going answer many questions but it doesn't. The operating...

Samsung H1

The definitive Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 review

Great, vivid screen; Good amount of storage; Nice camera with 720p recording; Unlimited music service; Integrated contacts

Complex 360 system; No Facebook messaging; Bluetooth won't sync; Email is untidily sorted; Video is hidden away in gallery

There's no CD containing the PC software in there – this is because it's on the whopping 16GB internal hard drive of the phone. However, such a big amount of flash memory seems to mean that Vodafone doesn't deem a microSD card necessary, despite there...

Vodafone 360 H1 (Samsung GT-I8320)

Vodafone's H1 aims to bring social networking full circle. Niall checks out whether it succeeds.

On the rear you’ll find the camera along with its single LED flash. The camera has a 5.0-megapixel resolution and takes decent enough snaps. The autofocus does its best to help avoid blurry shots and pictures look reasonably good when you transfer them...

Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 review

The Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 is a stylish touchscreen phone with an interesting user interface that's focused on social networking. It's currently let down by its buggy software, though, so we'd advise those thinking of investing in the M1 to hold off...

Responsive touchscreen ; Good social-networking features ; Fairly low price tag

Buggy software ; Your friends need to be on 360 to make the most of the service

Conclusion The Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 looks good, it has a responsive touchscreen and its user interface offers an intriguing approach to social networking. But we experienced a number of problems with the phone's software, so we'd advise potential...

Vodafone Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 review

Vodafone's new 360 service, which consists of mobile software and a website, aggregates your instant messaging, social networking and email accounts, just like HTC's Sense and Motorola's Motoblur software. Currently it works with only two...

Despite great hardware and contact aggregation, the H1's LiMo operating system doesn't have the application support of its rivals.

Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 review

First up is the Samsung H1's amazingly bright 3.5in Oled (organic light-emitting diode) display. The H1 has a QVGA resolution on which its 16.7 million shades of colour almost literally sing.

Combining the fun factor and responsive touchscreen of the iPhone and the excellent communication features of the Palm and BlackBerry, the Samsung H1 is a superior phone that's up there with the best of the smartphones.

Stuff magazine

Social networking, cloud computing and apps, has this unique hardware/software combo discovered the secret mix for mobile success?

An innovative idea falls foul to an over complicated UI and half-baked social network integration

Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 review

The Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 is strictly for social butterflies, due to its innovative, contact-centric user interface, which takes a while to understand. In fact, the whole phone can be rather confusing, although it's packed with good features

Vivid screen ; Innovative contacts display ; 16GB of on-board memory ; Standard 3.5mm headphone jack ; Speedy Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity

Sluggish touchscreen ; Occasionally unresponsive ; Confusing user interface ; Your friends need to get on Vodafone 360 if you want to use all the features ; Steep learning curve

Conclusion We like how the Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 shows contacts in a new way -- not to mention its vivid screen and good connectivity -- but this phone puts you on a steep learning curve. If your friends and contacts are key to your existence, it may...
