Vodafone Smart 3

A £90 network branded phone that can run with the big names

Customisable design ; Good screen for a budget phone ; Value for money

Poor call quality ; A bit plasticy ; Slightly sluggish 1GHz CPU

For all its faults, though, the Vodafone Smart 3’s 233 pixels-per-inch image density stands out from the crowd. Text and graphics are still noticeably hazy at their edges and images are far from pin-sharp, but the improvement over the likes of the...

Vodafone Smart 3 review

The Vodafone Smart 3 is certainly cheap and the screen isn't bad for the price. The weedy 1GHz single-core processor makes everyday use pretty tiresome though. There are better performing phones available for this kind of money.

Cheap ; Decent screen ; Camera is fine for snaps ; Customisable inserts under the back cover

Underpowered processor gives miserable performance ; Unimpressive battery life ; Only 2GB of usable storage

The Vodafone Smart 3 is cheap, has a decent screen, and the camera is at least good enough for a shot of your cat in your garden. The interchangeable back inserts would be brilliant if the plastic cover allowed you to see through it, too.

I find that the processor is actually pretty good in practice - it obviously won't handle top-of-the-range online 3D gaming but it for what I was expecting it's been brilliant. The camera, however, is the only bad thing I can think of with this device....
