Vodafone Smart review

Are personalised backplates enough to make this low-cost Android smartphone stand out?

Bespoke backplates ; Low cost

Small, low-resolution screen ; No pinch to zoom ; Poor battery life ; 2MP camera ; Lack of onboard storage

Vodafone's Smart is one of the most affordable Android devices on the market. Certainly, at £70 on pay as you go, it is attractively priced. But does it live up to what Android can offer? A low price and good value for money aren't the same thing.

Vodafone Smart 4 Review

Made by a company called “Yulong” (no, we've never heard of them either), this is the rather cheap (£75 on Pay As You Go) Vodafone Smart 4.

Vodafone Smart

The Vodafone Smart, also known as the Vodafone 858, is the latest budget Android phone to come from the UK network.

Like last year's Vodafone 845, the Huawei-made smart phone is extremely lightweight, weighing in at a teeny 104g. It's certainly not a bad looking smartphone either, touting a glossy black frontage and the back-cover of your choice. However, we're not...

Vodafone Smart Android smartphone

Though it runs Froyo and has a capacitive screen, the Smart has been ruthlessly built down to a price. Despite that, for talking, e-mailing, texting, navigating and social networking it’s up to the job. Yes it falls down when faced with more demanding...

Vodafone Smart

Big screen, loads of apps & really good value for money

Concerns that if it was used to its full potential that the battery would need recharging a lot more often

Vodafone Smart

Bought this for someone who uses mainly a PHONE and is less interested in the 'other stuff' so it does the job. It is compact and neat and can do the extras if necessary. Good for the price and suitable for 'learners' and children, or people on a budget

It is not really good enough for business and the dispay is not as good as my Samsung GS2 but that's no surprise ; Initially the battery life was shocking, considering it is used mainly for calls, but turned off Wifi and GPS and used App killer to...
