ZTE Anthem 4G review

The new $199.99 ZTE Anthem 4G sounds like a tempting proposition for MetroPCS subscribers. It brings the power of Android combined with 4G LTE data connectivity to the table, all without having to commit to an onerous service contract. A closer look,...

The ZTE Anthem 4G offers clear call quality and 4G data without a contract.

The Anthem 4G's design is unexciting. The phone runs on a slow processor and uses the outdated Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

With its slow processor and older software, only desperate Android shoppers should consider ZTE's Anthem 4G.

ZTE Anthem 4G (MetroPCS)

The warbling ZTE Anthem 4G doesn't deliver nearly enough oomph to warrant its purchase.

Impressive call quality. Inexpensive plan pricing.

Big and heavy. Poor battery life. Dim display. Old, sluggish version of Android. No voice dialing over Bluetooth. Choppy camcorder. Tons of bloatware.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions The phone comes with 2.3GB of free internal storage, and there's a microSD card slot underneath the battery cover that accepts up to 32GB cards; my 32GB SanDisk card worked fine. MetroPCS throws in a 4GB card...

Review: ZTE Anthem 4G for MetroPCS

ZTE's first LTE smartphone for the U.S. is the Anthem 4G for MetroPCS. This phone includes a large display and other appealing features, but this Anthem is a little off-key.

ZTE's Anthem 4G offers basic Android without strings

For $199, the ZTE Anthem 4G for MetroPCS is slow, and it runs Android Gingerbread, but at least it doesn't chain you to a contract.

I love this phone!!!!

I've had this phone for almost 2 weeks now and have to say that it's awesome. I ordered it on the Bestbuy website. Even though it's Gingerbread (2.3) instead of the new 'ice cream sandwich' or 'jelly bean', i love how fast the screens cycle. The Anthem...

Superb how fast the screens cycle.

No cons at all...
