I did not buy mine refurbished, and Tassimo has subcontracted out the manufacturing to Bosch instead of Braun. Where Keurig was made by the coffee maker to sell green mountain coffee (A la razor blade and handle marketing model)- Tassimo is designed...

IMHO makes better coffee than Keurig ; Adjustable amount of added water to make stronger or weaker ; Makes great specialty drinks with Hot Chocolate and Latte/Cappuccino discs available ; 6 or more varieties of Starbucks and A few Seattle's best...

Less availability of the Discs- Bed Bath Beyond, Some Target stores and on line ; Does not have a way to use your own coffee ( But can do almost instant Hot water) ; Most of these types have a higher cost per cup

I really am sorry I bought this. I banished it to my workshop, where I will use it until I run out of t-discs then will probably give it away. I replaced it in the house with a Keurig, which is HUGELY better for this kind of machine! It's hard to...

makes a nice cup of coffee

Expensive, proprietary "T-Discs" no option for using your own. Very hard to clean. Some of the t-discs "explode" and create a nasty, even dangerous mess. The hot-chocolate and "latte" options are disappointing. (and messy)

Overall this machine is good. The strengths are in its ability to make regular brewed coffee, and espresso shots. The espresso shots are correctly poured using the auto-mode, turn out with a nice crema, and do have a nice rich flavor like a barrista...
