I have had the Cuisinart DCC-270 for well over a year now. I got it as a Christmas gift in place of on old 6 cup generic maker. It has a basic timer that is easy to set and use. It comes with a gold filter(came with a pack of paper filters also)....

This coffee maker is pretty reasonably priced, and so you have to be aware that you're not getting a commercial appliance which you'll pass down to your children's children. It will last if cleaned in basic way, and if you don't intend to abuse it.
