Finding reasonable replacement carafe

We needed a 'backup' coffee maker since we sent a different NEW coffee maker in for service (Krups isn't batting 1000 these days either). I thought the Farberware would do just fine as a "less expensive" alternative since most brewers these days seem ...

Easy programming - not in service long enough

Replacement parts are a ripoff ; shape of carafe plus attached lid = poorly designed carafe

Not as good as I'd hoped

It is an impressive looking coffee maker - featuring all the things I was looking for, and it was on sale. The 1st thing I noticed that I didn't like was the water level indicator--if you only make 4 cups its hard to tell the amount in the reservoir. ...
