NOT a thermal carafe

I bought this unit to replace my cuisinart coffee maker that we had for almost 10 yrs. Our old coffee maker kept coffee hot for 12 hrs+( thermal carafe ) the thermal carafe on this coffee maker is junk. My work thermos keeps coffee hotter than this one.

It makes coffee

Does not keep coffee hot at all

Threw away box after one week. Newegg did not allow RMA without a box and will not send a replacement one. I am very disappointed.

Hot coffee

Stop working after 4th used

Great Home Brews

I would not have allowed myself to pay ninety dollars for a machine that makes a liquid that no one else in my family enjoy, so I am very thankful that my family got it as a gift for me. You do have to understand what parts are not dishwasher safe...

It brews good coffee at my perfect temperature and then doesn't burn it between cups. Very easy to clean. Comes with a dishwasher safe filter. Will not produce coffee hot enough to scald, so it will not burn the flavor out or turn bitter

It can be moody, and the plastic top is a bit flimsy to be dealing with hot liquids, but that is nit-picking. By moody I mean there are a lot of parts you simply have to remain aware of and keep clean (see Pros)

ZOJIRUSHI EC-BD15 Black Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker

A good drip coffee maker is hard to come by. You can find machines on the web that will brew a good cup, but they are more expensive than the Zojirushi. Do a little research about brands like Technivorm and Capresso. I'm currently enjoying a...

This coffee maker makes good coffee. YOUR coffee maker does not. The Zojirushi gets the water hot enough to brew a good pot

Other reviewers have noted that there are some areas where the machine is awkward to use. I think those are minor issues that you will forget about once you get familiar with the brewer ; The reason I gave this machine two stars is that it failed right...

great machine

Loud? Really? Unreliable? Best overall coffee maker I've owned.

Great cup of coffee, have not had any problems with it. Coffee stays hot for a long time without getting burnt. I've owned this maker for well over a year

Too easy to change the time. I accidentally change it often

My unit only lasted a few months short of two years. I guess I was expecting the same quality as my zojirushi rice cooker. At least I now have a nice second coffee carafe to go along with my new coffee maker, whoever the manufacturer will be.

Makes great, hot coffee. Carafe keeps coffee hot for a long time without turning bitter

Small filter basket, watch out if you forget to empty carafe before brewing a new pot (I use a separate water container to fill coffee maker), short product life

Okay coffeemaker with some quirks

Some other reviewers commented on how noisy it is. It doesn't really bother me, it reminds me of how the old percolating coffee maker used to sound. And you always know when it is done brewing.

It makes a good, hot cup of coffee and the thermal carafe keeps it hot for a couple of hours. The controls are basic and easy to use

It will overflow if you don't make sure the carafe is lined up properly. You have to swing the spray head out of the way to get the brew basket out. The plastic lid is pretty flimsy and cheap feeling. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until I loose...

Worst. Coffee Maker. Ever.

When we first received the Zojirushi Coffee Maker, the timer didn't work. Then, it would sporadically decide to overflow while brewing coffee. We sent it back within a year to be fixed, which involved driving out to the hinterlands to find the only...

Makes OK coffee

Carafe and basket assembly prone to overflowing. Lousy customer service

Poor Quality

Cheaply made unit that is not designed to last. There are better coffee maker options in this price range for the same amount of money.

Makes a very good cup of coffee when it works. Carafe keeps the coffee hot for an extended period of time without burning it

Heating element burned out with light use after 16 months ; Water get's trapped in the top of the lid. There is no way to get it out - this IMO is a health hazard ; The lid on the carafe is difficult to turn to tighten and remove ; The overall unit is...
