Samsung NX10

The Samsung NX10 ($700 list, as of 7/21/10), another entry in the growing compact interchangeable-lens camera category, takes up less room in your camera bag than most DSLRs, while still featuring a 14.6-megapixel, APS-C CMOS image sensor; a 3-inch...

Convenient EVF, though not exceptional quality ; Excellent menu system with friendly user interface ; Good quality 3-inch LCD ; Clean, colorful JPEGs using auto controls ; Solid construction and comfortable grip ; Built-in flash and hot shoe

Cumbersome RAW processing ; Bundled software for Windows users only ; Poor video quality ; High price tag ; Image stabilization is average at best

We like the ease-of-use and firm construction of Samsung's NX10 interchangeable-lens camera, but its video and image qualities pale in comparison with those of competitors.

Samsung NX10 Review

We were very impressed by the Samsung NX10. This is an awesome EVIL camera that is sure to please most any user, with excellent image quality, fast performance, and loads of useful exposure options. Read more in our Full Conclusion.

Superb shooting performance; Excellent build quality; Loads of fine tuning options; Vast array of useful exposure modes; Awesome 3.0-inch AMOLED display; High-quality EVF; Captures nice HD video; Powerful built-in flash; Captures beautiful 14-megapixel...

ISO 3200 shows a good amount of noise; Awkward position of Green and Drive mode buttons; Only three lens options currently (as of 6/2010); Contrast when using the Standard (default) Picture Wizard setting is a bit too strong which can increase the...

Samsung NX10

For the Samsung NX10, the whole feels like a lot more than the sum of the parts. Except for a nice design, surprisingly good lenses, and its status as the first interchangeable-lens camera (ILC) with a relatively large APS-C-size sensor, there doesn't...

Comfortable, intelligent design; nice LCD; capable of producing excellent images

Default image settings could be better; sensor cleaning on resume from standby; middling EVF; no override for EVF eye sensor; annoying raw software

While there are enough drawbacks to keep the Samsung NX10 from being a no-brainer choice among interchangeable-lens cameras, it's still a well-designed model that's fun to shoot with and capable of producing very nice photos.

Samsung NX10

With its Micro-Four-Thirds Consortium, Olympus and Panasonic set out to create a universal lens system for compact interchangeable-lens cameras, but Samsung's latest entry to this nascent market, the NX10, brings a completely new lens system to the...

Compact build with interchangeable lenses. D-SLR-like image quality and focusing speed. Negligible shutter lag. OLED screen offers extraordinary contrast and very little motion blur. Intuitive and attractive user interface. 720p30 HD video capture

Included lens produces soft images. Noise at ISO 1600 and higher. No optical viewfinder. Limited lens and accessory selection. No microphone input

Samsung's first Micro-Four-Thirds competitor holds its own when it comes to speed and performance, but a proprietary lens system and limited compatible accessories detract from the overall package.

Samsung NX10 Digital Camera Review

Samsung introduced a brand new camera format with the NX10, a mirrorless interchangeable lens system with the same APS-C-size sensor as conventional DSLRs. But while the NX10 is less noisy than Micro Four Thirds cameras, it's also bigger, and launched...

The first question to ask when evaluating the Samsung NX10 isn’t how well does it work, but why does it exist? The engineers at Samsung took the mirrorless concept pioneered by Micro Four Thirds camera designers, combined it with the larger,...

Samsung NX10 DSLR Camera Review

The NX10 is a new camera from Samsung that offers an interchangeable lens system and the ability to record 720p HD video. Overall, we weren't that impressed by what Samsung brought to the table with the video functions of the NX10.

($699) marks Samsung's bold entry into the increasingly competitive interchangeable lens camera market. It's designed to go head-to-head with the likes of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 and, to a lesser extent, the more compact (and viewfinder-less)...

Very good photo quality (though see issues below) ; Compact, SLR-style body with NX-mount interchangeable lenses; good build quality in most respects ; Beautiful 3-inch AMOLED display with excellent color, contrast, and viewing angle ; Nice live view...

Camera consistently underexposes (not by much, though) ; High ISO performance not as good as competition ; Main display and EVF difficult to see in extreme lighting conditions ; Continuous shooting mode hampered by lack of buffer memory ; No "true"...

Overall, the Samsung NX10 is quite impressive for a first generation product, though it has a ways to go before it'll be the best interchangeable lens camera on the market. Samsung has shown through firmware updates that they want to improve the NX10,...
