Baseball Mogul 2008 (PC)

Baseball Mogul has come a long way in the nine years since its opening day. The game started in 1998 as a straightforward economic simulation of what it would be like to run a big-league ballclub, with a focus on winning the World Series and setting...

A new engine makes Mogul 2013 the most realistic entry in the series.

Baseball Mogul 2008 on PC games

For the Hardcore Only

The game promises the a lot but in the end, absolutely fails to deliver any kind of entertaining experience. It's the point and click adventure meets baseball and, frankly, it seems like an insult to both.

Baseball Mogul 2007 Review

Baseball is a deep, deep game. On the outside, it looks like it isn't much more than one guy throwing a ball and someone else swinging at it. If it gets hit, some guy in the grass area chases after it and tries to catch it. If he does this three times,...

If you find yourself fiddling with stats and rosters in console games more than you do actually playing the games, give Baseball Mogul 2007 a shot. You won't be disappointed. And it'll cost you less than a single game at your favorite ballpark.

Baseball Mogul 2007

I've long been fascinated by sports management sims. Why? Well, anyone who gets handy with a joystick can turn a lowly sports franchise into a world championship team. How many times have my Madden NFL Minnesota Vikings won the Super Bowl? A lot. How...

Great, accurate sim results with a very fast sim engine ; Historically accurate rosters and teams dating all the way back to 1901 ; Lots of views and modes; intelligent AI with four difficulty levels

Financial engine is stuck in 2006, no matter whether you play in 1901 or 2099 ; Pitch-by-pitch game controls are awkward if you want to swing wood yourself

Stats-addicts and control freaks, rejoice! Baseball Mogul 2007 has most of what fans of sports management sims look for, and does it all without wasting your time, thanks to a fast sim engine!

Baseball Mogul 2009 Review (PC)

A little over ten years ago, I was tired of replaying single baseball seasons with Strat-O-Matic and of using the horrible so-called career features of the consoles of that day. I searched at least once a week, and finally one day, a Metacrawler search...

New depth chart interface. Scrolling statistical ticker is very good. Financial model can be challenging

Fictional universes not fully fleshed out. Ratings scale could use work. Lacks depth in roster options

Baseball Mogul 2010 Review (PC)

If baseball management simulations were players, Out of the Park might be your team's superstar -- the player all the kids want to be. Front Office Manager would be the highly touted, yet extremely disappointing rookie who has nowhere to go but up. In...

Simple and accurate management sim. Customization and various modes. Good community support

Lacks depth and features. Too simple for more experienced players. Not a huge upgrade from 2009

Baseball Mogul 2011 Review (PC)

I swore that I would not mention OOTP 11 in my Baseball Mogul 2011 review. Mogul is not OOTP, so why bother comparing the two? Well, perhaps because they were released around the same time, or perhaps because I just could not help myself, I have...

Entertaining. Accurate. Simple learning curve

Lacks depth. Certain financial aspects. Free agency seems empty
