Battlefield 3 (PC)

Verdict: 3.4/5 Middlin' “I can only hope that these problems are fixed because without them, Battlefield 3 could be a pretty neat game. As it is, though, it needs a LOT of work.”

This, or

Particularly gooey is the single-player campaign—a thin, linear, trite (even by military-shooter standards) thriller that imagines a plot by rogue Russian and Iranian terrorists to nuke Paris and New York. A lousy framing device means that much of the...

Battlefield 3 Review

I haven't killed a single person.

First in class multiplayer; Drop-dead gorgeous engine; Four distinct classes; Powerful, yet vulnerable vehicles; A blend of skill and tactics; No better competitive first-person shooter to date; Hours of gameplay worht your money

Lackadaiscal singleplayer; Me-too cooperative campaign; Totally skippable outside of multiplayer

The engine is drop-dead gorgeous, no matter what platform you're playing on. The game also sports industry-best sound design. Period. This is the best engine I've ever seen and as many developers as possible should do their best to work in Frostbite 2....

Battlefield 3

For the past few years, Electronic Arts has desperately been attempting to gain a leading share of the first-person shooter market. Games like Medal of Honor and Crysis 2 have been selected as champions to take down Activision and its Call of Duty...

Many players, of course, will be more than happy to gloss over the issues because there truly is something worth playing when you get in deep. Ignoring the mediocre campaign and wasted co-op, the multiplayer is an authentically engrossing affair, one...

PC Review: Battlefield 3's 64-Player Matches Make Up for Lackluster Single-Player

Who cares about an eight-hour campaign when multiplayer is this good?

Battlefield is back. After a lengthy detour with two console-exclusive titles, a trip to the future, two Bad Company games, and two free-to-play releases, the game hailed as the true successor to Battlefield 2 has finally arrived. This is no Call of...

Battlefield 3 review

Step aside Call of Duty - there's a new sheriff in town. Battlefield 3 launched to an enormous marketing campaign blitz blanket televisions and websites with $50 million worth of ads. On display was a game that looked extremely promising with its...

Finally a game has come along that can proudly claim to have surpassed Call of Duty in a number of areas. Fanboys from both camps will argue over the merits of that argument. I’ll certainly be the first to admit that it depends on your style of play....

Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 is kind of a creature out of time. It's official predecessor, Battlefield 2, launched in 2005. Even that recently it was a very different era: despite being a first-person shooter, BF2 was a PC-only title, and one of its rivals - the Call...

The appeal of Battlefield 3 ultimately lies where it has for the entire series, which is some of the best multiplayer in existence. EA will probably be disappointed by poor reception to the single-player campaign, but the game as a whole is guaranteed...

Battlefield 3 (PC)

As BF3 is a FPS with realistic aspects and a competitive online community, it may feel inconvenient for more sensitive players. Rage and frustration often outbreak in the BF3 multiplayer chat, and sadly, there appears to be no trivial ways of disabling...

Excellent multiplayer with vehicles, impressive graphics with a sophisticated destruction engine

Poor single player, potentially quarrelsome online experience
