Battlestations: Pacific Review

Battlestations: Pacific takes players through two epic sagas of the Pacific War using naval and aerial combat tactics, players get a unique spot of playing through the history of the war or being able to rewrite the outcome.

The game strives to create a strong visual experience for gamers and really their efforts show through the interface, models, attention to detail on textures, and the particle systems. Sound effects meanwhile further enhance immersion.

Battlestations Pacific Eidos Inc. and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Beautiful 3D Environments. Fun mix of strategy and arcade play

Battlestations: Pacific

The question of "what if?" has always perplexed our society. What would happen if our society's most important events unfolded differently? Battlestations Pacific, the sequel to 2007's highly under-appreciated Battlestations: Midway gives gamers the...

While there aren't many cheats available at this time for Battlestations: Pacific, those available are so spot on with the game's action that they warrant a higher score. Each of the cheats works directly with each other and allows for further...

Battlestations: Pacific

Those of you who played the 2007 title Battlestations: Midway were treated to a deep, engrossing, and difficult to grasp game. It was a strategy game yet an action game, and an air combat game yet a naval combat game. The WWII fighter was also very...

Battlestations: Pacific does improve on its predecessor in several ways, but overall it just doesn't do enough to make it a must-buy. The machines control well, but the action is just a bit slow to keep you on the edge of your seat (or couch, or...

Battlestations: Pacific - Review

Most of the game, and what could be your preferred unit type, takes place in an aircraft. There are ample ways in which to fly around and target enemy units. Turning and other maneuvers are made slightly difficult with the sensitivity of a mouse, and...

Battlestations: Pacific

World War II games have been around for a long time and most of them have become stale, over done and simply just will not die. But good World War II strategy titles have been very rare and when one comes along you should take notice. This is just the...

Graphics and audio upgrades over Battlestations: Midway is huge ; Major gameplay boost ; Damage modeling on planes and ships is impressive ; Weather effects is great ; Multiplayer is extremely fun ; US and Japanese campaigns are both well done ; Use of...

Some of the secondary objectives are not clear ; Why are we hearing the other side speak during missions ; It is way too easy as a sub this time around

Overall, the game has some very good audio in all areas, but I have the same complaint here as I had with the first Battlestations game and that is the games big guns on ships and planes just do not have the punch that they should. Battleships are loud...

Battlestations: Pacific

If you're prepared to push through its choppier moments, you'll find a rich and highly enjoyable game that should keep you occupied for months.

Indeed, Pacific as a whole can be described as a curious mix of simplicity and complexity. Simple weapons like machine guns, artillery and AA cannons have infinite ammunition, but you'll need to flick between them as the situation demands. More...

Ultimately Eidos has done a fine job of providing the instruments of sea-faring destruction, and it’s the community that will define BSP’s success.

Battlestations Pacific Review

The first Battlestations game was pretty unique in its offering, but suffered from a small online community and some fairly terrible graphics. With a ne [...]

Better graphics ; Huge campaign ; Better MP options

Less strategic ; MP ratings/unlocks ; More arcadey

"Battlestations Pacific" could have been a brilliant, 9.5 or even 10/10 game if it hadn't regressed in certain areas. A beautiful new game engine, a huge campaign, and even deeper multiplayer options would have made it one of the most addictive...

Tora Tora Puddy Tat

It's just such a shame that it's hindered by a lack of thought in too many areas and that I have real concerns as to whether most people will have the patience to stick with it and those that do may well be put off by the unwelcome, tumbleweed filled...
