Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood PC Review

Saloon shoot-outs, riding on horse back, quick-draws at high noon; these were the original shooters. Before space marines were decked out in the latest armors and given the most advanced weapons, it was just about a man, his hat and the horse he rode...

A very engaging story. Ray and Thomas have very distinct styles of gameplay. Ally AI is actually quite competent. Great voice acting

Side-quest not really needed. The absence of co-op play. Some clipping issues. Multiplayer lacking in difference

The story starts out during the final months of the Civil War. The McCall brothers, Ray and Thomas, are doing their best to hold the line and stop the Union Army from burning the South to the ground, but when their family and homestead are threatened...

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - PC review at Thunderbolt Games

Westerns are somewhat of a rarity in the gaming community; ironic, considering their status as one of the most over-saturated genres in film history. While there are a few options, gamers have a surprisingly slim library to select from if they're in...

Review: Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (PC)

The story mode itself is kind of short and full of cliches of everything you might expect in a western. Which in and of itself isn't bad, but as outrageous as you think they're going to be it felt predictable.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood suffers from some mishandled controls (they’re really not sloppy) and is lacking only in originality if you’ve inundated yourself with westerns most of your life. It is a solid, if short FPS, and even the multiplayer is...

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Rev..

Ubisoft and Techland take you back to the wild, wild west with a stylish shooter for which Clint Eastwood would be proud.

A stunning graphical presentation on a graphics engine that runs extraordinarily well. A very strong singleplayer component backed by an engaging storyline, well-written (and sometimes hilarious) dialogue, and some really good voice acting. Ability to...

Lack of co-op play becomes noticeable. Combat segments, while interesting, explosive, and exciting, also tend to get a bit repetitive in some areas. "Duel" scenes in particular can rapidly become frustrating

From start to finish, the single player campaign of Bound in Blood definitely provides one of the most memorable FPS gaming experiences of the year. Even though running through a town gunning down dozens of bad guys does get a little repetitive after...

Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood Review

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood on the PC is a great experience in both single and multiplayer, but it may not satisfy hardcore PC gamers used to strategy in their shooters.

While the game itself is better than the original by far, the western aesthetic isn't as fresh as it once was. If you're not interested in the multiplayer then this game will probably feel short and empty.

The original Call of Juarez had to be played to be believed. An alternately awful and incredible mixture of poorly designed levels with an incredible attention to pacing, narrative, and character...

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Review

TVG ducks for cover as the McCall brothers come to town to kill, or at least horribly mutilate, any yellow bellies in sight...

Adventurous gameplay ; Interesting storyline ; Gun toting mayhem

It's rough around the edges ; Overly difficult at times ; Shoot-outs can get tiresome

Bound in Blood is one of those rare games that you'll remember more for what it did right than the many ways it fell short of the mark. There's a slight awkwardness to the gameplay experience that's forgivable thanks to engaging characters and an...

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

A massive improvement, although sans bible-powers

Ideas coming out the wazoo ; Huge improvement in combat ; Spectacle-packed

A few graphical quirks ; No bible powers ; Should've had co-op

If you’re sick and tired of the lifeless brown dirge most shooters dish out the open vistas, rolling skies and unspoilt wilderness of Bound in Blood’s setting will be a breath of relatively fresh air. It's also, simply, a great first-person shooter –...
