City Life 2008 Edition (PC)

The latest addition to this family of innovative city-building games leaves you wanting more, mostly because it offers so little that is new.

City Life 2008 Edition Review

Livin' in the City is where it's at!

This edition of City Life is a good city simulation and it compares well to the Sim City series. The content is solid and the gameplay fun, and the inclusion of social strategy planning is innovative. However, for an expansion, there isn't a whole lot...

City Life 2008 Edition PC Review

I remember City Life 2008 Edition, I remember it well. Why? Because I remember reviewing it when it was called City Life: World Edition. At least it certainly feels that way.

Unique city-building mechanic; nice graphics and sound; building creator for those inclined; lots of scenarios

Barely enough new content to warrant an expansion pack; still feels a little unfinished

Make money by taxing businesses; get richer businesses by attracting richer subcultures. It's a simple formula, but it gets pretty complex as the city grows in size. Attracting (and keeping) the richer cultures to your city means giving them services...

City Life Edition 2008

Time to orchestrate some class warfare

Balancing the social tensions ; SimCity-like familiarity ; New scenarios and buildings

Scenarios lack imagination ; Feels old and gussied up ; Perplexing class structure

SimCity 4 is still a superior, if more complex, city management sim. But at less than full price, CL offers a vast amount of detail, a hefty editor and a unique approach to social design. The 32 different landscape styles feel generous, and while the...

City Life 2008 Edition

City Life Edition 2008 is not very different from its previous installment, World Edition. Of course, considering our review, that isn't exactly a bad thing.

City Life 2008 Edition Review

For fans of city management simulations, EA's latest instalment in the SimCity series may have been a little disappointing. So you may be pleased to know that City Life 2008 Edition may go some way to easing your pain.

Overall City life 2008 should offer most a good challenge whilst staying accessible. The game should appeal to those who where disappointed with the simplistic approach of the latest SimCity game especially considering City Life's budget price tag! All...

It's not Sim City Societies – but that's not a bad thing

A fun town-planning game that’s not quite as good as the Sim City classics
