The North Korean Government quickly seals off the island chain, claiming the mysteries of the asteroid for themselves. The United States responds by dispatching an elite team of Delta Force Operators to recon the situation and report back to the...

First, to clear something out of the way: I apologize for the extreme lateness of this review, but shortly into playtestingCrysis, the computer used had to be brought in for repairs. While I got it back in a reasonable amount of time, it was equipped...

It stands to reason then that if you like shooters, and your system can handle it, Crysis is one of the must-have PC games on shelves at the moment, alongside the likes of BioShock and The Orange Box. People may be drawn to the admittedly cheaper...

Crysis Warhead (PC)

Crysis Warhead is a stand alone game that adds a parallel story to Crysis. In this game, you play Psycho, a Special Forces officer equipped with a nanosuit that grants you enhanced armor, strength, speed, and the ability to cloak. On an island filled...

Crysis Warhead

CRYTEK is well known for making games that focus heavily on beautifully realised tropical landscapes and big-balled protaganists. Crysis Warhead is no exception to this pattern. This pseudo-sequel to 2007's Crysis promises to deliver more action than...

Crysis Warhead Review for the PC

…streaking away into a beautiful sunset.

Still looks good; Still plays well; AI performs more convincingly

Still requires a moon computer; Dreadfully linear; Hovercrafts; Contextless story

Crysis Warhead (PC)

The byword of the military shooter in 2008 is "refinement." Rarely are gamers handed concepts that are genuinely new, but loads of pleasure yet remains in seeing something done significantly better than before. That's what Crysis Warhead is all about....

This review is based on a retail copy of the game purchased by Crispy Gamer.

Crysis Warhead Review

This is one Crysis you won't want averted

Go grab or download a copy. At 29.99 (USD), there's no reason not pick this one up. Even if you haven't played its predecessor, you can't go wrong here if you are an FPS fan.

Crysis Warhead

Changed gameplay

However, with increased AI smarts also comes vulnerability. Whereas you sometimes had to shoot your human enemies several times in the original unless you got a direct head shot, the human enemies in Crysis Warhead seem to drop at three shots at most....

Crysis Warhead

Speaking as someone who completed Crysis, I must say the folks at Crytek delivered an excellent first-person shooter, giving it a gripping cinematic edge to boot. Of course, in order to witness the game in its full visual might you needed some sort of...

It's a fair bargain, excellent multiplayer, exciting single-player campaign, cinematic atmosphere

High settings" still demanding for modest rigs, AI bugs present from the original game

Product Specifications

Maximum freedom, maximum explosions and maximum Psycho! Crysis Warhead is the parallel story to Crysis, one of the most critically-acclaimed first person shooters. Shipping exclusively for the PC this autumn, Crysis Warhead is the first title to be developed at Crytek's Budapest studio, and is built on a enhanced and optimized version of Crytek's CryENGINE 2 technology. In Crysis Warhead, players will don the Nanosuit of Sergeant Sykes, also known as 'Psycho', one of the most memorable characters from Crysis. More brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squadmate Nomad, players will experience Psycho's parallel story during the events of the original game, finding that life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined. Luckily, Psycho's Nanosuit is just as capable and he's equipped with an even bigger arsenal of fully customizable weapons and vehicles, giving players access to the tools they need to dominate any situation. Aside from this new, exciting single player campaign, Crysis Warhead will also feature multiplayer content.
