Dragon Age II Review

Over the last decade-plus, BioWare hasn't really made a bad game. Sure, there are a few people out there that just detest Jade Empire or couldn't stand the mildly-compromised action in the first Mass Effect, but most people have absolutely loved every...

Dragon Age II is a fine RPG, but it lacks the kind of lofty ambition that has made BioWare famous. All I can hope for is that a good two or three years is spent on the next game, and that it comes out swinging with a much more hard-hitting story.

Hack and Slash

Combat is visceral and responsive

It's thoughtless and lazy, as are the story, visuals, and level design

Of course, Dragon Age: Origins wasn't perfect: Its dungeons were a bit too long and tiring, and everything from the story to the presentation to the enemies was very derivative of Lord of the Rings. But its combat was highly tactical. It required...

Bioware certainly promise a lot from their games and Dragon Age II is no exception. It's certainly got many quests, storylines and plots following on from the first game, but the changes to the complexity of the game play will infuriate some, whilst...

Dragon Age II Review

It isn't the wonder its predecessor was, but Dragon Age II is still a quality role-playing game that focuses on the element of choice to great effect.

Player choice manifests itself in interesting ways ; Spectacular writing and voice acting bring each character to life ; Fascinating world characterized by moral ambiguity ; Combat is fun, fast-paced, and colorful ; Great symphonic soundtrack

Main story lacks focus and drive ; Multiple elements have been inexplicably simplified over the original ; Combat is much less tactical

The characters that join you on your journey aren't as memorable as those of the original Dragon Age. Alistair and Morrigan, among others, had vivid personalities that made it easy to immediately identify with them. The sequel's ensemble cast doesn't...

A good try of making a action Rpg \ Rpg.

I'll start from the beginning.Well the first thing after u start a new game is the character screen. Now what were those bio ware folks thinking by introducing only two type of characters a male and a female(Human).it only means that u cannot play the...

1 Amazingly good battle scenarios and twists compared with dragon age :origins and its follow up ; 2 The player based on his will can play it as a action game or a sort of rpg (you'll understand in the summary what i mean ) ; 3 Graphics are good ; 4

1 Rating of the story in comparison to origins is 3 out of 10 ; 2 The dialogues are easy but don't have the effect of uncertainty that resembled more reality to the game ; 3 No good boss fights (combat is still good))but no new character types introduced

Not the game that is expected as the successor of DA:O

Oh my... I have never thought I had to write that... rather I was eager to play this game, but it's turned out differently. RPGs... I did em all... from the first days with my Commodore Amiga (Bard's Tale, some AD&D RPGs), to PC games (also AD&Ds,...

Some dialogues, fast paced story

Design (e.g. Flemeth designed as a Domina in Manga style), missing almost all what makes an RPG an RPG
