Empire Earth III (PC)

While it may be a lot smoother and simpler than its predecessors, Empire Earth III has been dumbed down to the point of irrelevance.

Empire Earth III PC Review

I am so tired of playing this game.

Stylized graphics; turn-based strategy campaign has some interesting ideas

Battles are boring and slow-paced; unit pathfinding and computer AI is terrible; everything has been over-simplified; awful voice acting; too many stereotypes to count; all three civilizations are too similar; campaign mode is too repetitive; buggy...

As I write this first paragraph, I have a campaign battle going on in front of me. My trebuchets are running in circles, my archers can't get the hint that when I tell them to move to point A, I mean that I would like them to move to point A, you know,...

Empire Earth III - PC review at Thunderbolt Games

Empire Earth 3 is the type of game which failed before it hit the shelves. Empire Earth 3 is the type of game kids will unwrap on Christmas day and tell their friends they got something else. Empire Earth 3 is the type of game you never need to play,...

This is a sad day. I was hoping that EE3 wasn't going to be as bad as it looked.. Post a Comment

The game tries to reach out to more gamers but fails completely. AI pathfinding is broken, gameplay aspects are barely implemented and performance is a stinker. Stay away from this game.

If Empire Earth or global domination is your thing, you may find something to like here

Weak gameplay, presentation and a sloppy interface will probably leave you yearning for the good old days

Empire Earth III Review

The latest chapter in the Empire Earth series feels watered down.

Simplistic design and an easy to use interface aren't always a recipe for success. In fact, the technical advances and very deep structure are what made the first game great. Add in gameplay flaws and a shallow experience, and this game is sure to turn...

If the third time's the charm, then humanity's in trouble.

Empire Earth III plays as though Rise of Nations met Total War and they had a child neither wanted. Unfortunately, not even Empire Earth fans are likely to give this game much love either.

Empire Earth III

Sierra's series Empire Earth was widely approved by gamers, but it never really managed to stand out in the heavy competition on the RTS scene. This was true of Stainless Steel Studios' original EE game, as well as Mad Doc Software's EE II. With the...

Three completely unique factions accommodate to all styles of play, plenty of skirmish maps, customizable civilizations, decent multiplayer, a solid variety of technologies and units

None of which make up for an ultimately disappointing single-player campaign, occasional pathfinding issues, choppy framerate and utterly maddening unit voiceovers

This real-time strategy sequel has some clever mechanics, but bad implementation of everything from the combat to the AI drags the experience down.

Three varied factions; interesting turn-based world-domination mode

Inscrutable combat; frustrating AI; many game features not implemented well
