Football Manager 2011 Review

So another year, another Football Manager. This years game offers several new features, but is it enough to encourage you to upgrade from last years impressive effort

Now to answer my original question, is it worth upgrading from previous years? If you are a fan who must have all the latest players and transfers, then yes, I highly recommend getting the game. If you don’t really mind and are just in it for the...

A revised training system and new features such as the set-piece creation suite make this the most well-rounded and complete version of Football Manager to date.

Incredible depth of simulation ; Proper contract negotiations ; Improved 3D engine ; More transparency with team tactics and blend ; Deeper and more realistic experience than FM 2010

Snowfall during matches obscures the action ; Multiplayer still an afterthought ; Default skin's news feed can get a little confusing

Sports Interactive puts its hand to a rapidly changing Premier League in this year's Football Manager...

With the 3D match engine that was added in FM 09 and the user-interface revamp introduced last year, FM 2011 just feels a little short-stacked in comparison. The game is undeniably deeper and more comprehensive throughout but lacks the original ideas...

The biggest name in gaming addiction is back...

Another year, another Football Manager and in essence nothing has changed. Being somebody who’s invested over 250 hours in Football Manager 2010 alone, it's difficult for Sports Interactive to come up with anything shock-inducing. The days of major...

Football Manager 2011 doesn't represent a major leap forward for the series but the small steps it takes forward are certainly welcome. It's unfortunate that the team talks and media interactions haven't been improved upon and it's a shame that no new...

Absolutely fantastic review – still not going near the game though – I'd sooner shoot up heroin.

Football Manager 2011 Review

Football Manager 2011 is a solid title that will keep the loyal fans happy. And thanks to the new additional features and tweaks, the game creates a near authentic experience of the on and off field actions of a football manager.

Contract negotiations; Increased role of agents; Deeper match preparation; Improved interaction with players and staff

Bland interface; Can be daunting for new players

There are games that are legendary in the gaming world, games that have held people's attention for many years, each new version better than the last, and each version adding something new to the mix. In this group is one game that has stood the test...

Huge Database ; Massive Depth ; The best managment game of all time

Too complicated for beginers ; Tactic creation is overly complicated

This year Sports Interactive has made a game that feels like the most essential for a very long time. Being a manager has never been so realistic or as much fun.

Review: It's all kicking off

Freshest FM in years ; Contract negotiation brings realism ; Agents are a frustrating delight ; Player power is much more prominent ; Match day build-up gives more control ; The best FM of all time

Stats presentation can become irritating

Football Manager 2011 is a complete triumph, and as satisfying as a last minute winner in the local derby.
