Mass Effect 2 Review

If you are a PS3 owner that's wondering where to find the original Mass Effect for the gaming console, don't bother. It does not exist on the PS3. That's unfortunate, because PC and Xbox 360 owners had the ability to play the original, and whatever...

The Paragon side of the spectrum is more compassionate, caring, and righteous. The Renegade side will make decisions that are more ruthless and less emotional. Whichever side you choose to play, watching the game unfold as a result of your decisions is...

Mass Effect 2 - PS3 review at Thunderbolt Games

An early mission in Mass Effect 2 sees you searching a crashed alien spacecraft. Cold blue light illuminates your path and the ship sighs and hums, much like a sleeping child. Hostile-robotic infantry are scattered all around like broken toys,...

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 is a proper sequel. While you can play this game on its own and enjoy it, it'll be worth your while playing the original first because there's a lot of continuity

Mass Effect 2 is brilliant in every way. This is a game you should start playing only if you can afford to give up your life for a few weeks, have a comfortable playing seat (for the long hours) and can have food bought to your desk without complaints.

Review: Mass Effect 2

There was much love from fans and critics for Mass Effect 1. We praised the story, the depth and variety of the player experience, the introduction of the dialogue wheel, and the successful attempt to weld RPG elements and first person shooter...

Major improvements made to every single element in the game ; Saves are generous and happen quickly ; Dialogue interrupts are fun and make the game more dynamic

Why do I have to fly my ship between the different systems? Isn’t that why I hired Joker ; Characters, including yours, from the first game don’t look as good compared to the characters in ME2 ; Story is slow to build

Statistics Played on an Xbox 360 for 22 hours. Completed the game and reached level 23. Played as a female Infiltrator.

Mass Effect 2

Mass appeal, too.

To be brutally honest, fighting in Mass Effect was frequently bland and unexciting. Not any more. All the bits that make a decent action game are now in place. Enemy AI is much improved, with your foes putting up a decent fight, even if there’s still a...

Mass Effect 2 review

A change of direction brings more exciting combat to the Mass Effect universe, but still retains the depth and charm typical of Bioware.

This streamlined sequel may not please everyone, but it certainly matches up to the series' premise of an RPG cum tactical shooter. If you're interested in either gaming genre, then this is a game that deserves your attention.

Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC Review

Well, the final DLC pack for Mass Effect 2 is here! Arrival is a shorter, more gunplay-focused mission set to tie Mass Effect 2 to Mass Effect 3. It sees Commander Sheppard sent to investigate clues suggesting an impending Reaper invasion in an outer...

Keeps you interested until the end ; Multiple approaches to start of mission ; Creates excitement for Mass Effect 3

Very short ; Linear second half ; Very little user creativity to combat (due to only being able to use one power at a time) ; New gameplay additions not prominent enough

It's tough to say - although it's certainly competent, it definitely doesn't live up to the previous Mass Effect 2 DLC packs, although we always knew it would be no Lair of the Shadow Broker. To me, AU$11.95 or 560MSP seems steep for a pack that...
