Max Payne 3 Review

Story’s well-done when it’s at its best; fantastic animations make shooting feel amazing; neat multiplayer ideas.

Story often secondary to shooting; difficulty spikes, bad checkpoints, and constant cover often frustrate; multiplayer lacks real hooks.

Almost 12 years since the original PC game was released, Max Payne is back in action with the self-titled Max Payne 3. The release of this game wasn’t an easy one, after being announced back in 2009 the game has continuously been pushed back in its...

Max Payne 3 – Review (Xbox 360)

Max Payne 3 Gaming and 3D Vision Experience

If you have read my previous reviews, you are aware of my disdain for heavily narrative driven PC games and direct console ports. On first glance, I was ready to dismiss Max Payne 3 as just another pedestrian conversion but even from the first few...

Max Payne 3

I find it difficult to be overly critical about Max Payne 3. While it has a few missteps and lacks the semi tongue in cheek humor of the original games, I found that the experience of Max’s journey to be far more engrossing than I initially expected....

Max Payne 3 Review

Tight, terrific gunplay intensified by bullet time and hard-hitting violence, Great writing, voice acting, and cutscene presentation, Detailed environments that get destroyed in spectacular fashion, Impactful sound design, Fun, chaotic multiplayer

Max's shootdodge maneuver is sometimes frustratingly ineffective

Max Payne 3 Review

So, should you play this game? Hell yeah! It does not matter if you haven't been a follower of the Max Payne franchise, there isn't much in common except for the one chapter which takes us back to Max's past in NYC. Gameplay, bullet-time, graphics and...
