Need for Speed: Shift (Xbox 360)

Need for Speed: Shift is a racing game that tries to do a lot of things, and the good news is that it does most of them well. The bad news is that Shift does very little that other racers haven't done before it, and it excels at nothing. The racing,...

Shift 2 Unleashed: Need for Speed

Shift 2 is a polished and great looking racer, but it's the first person view that ties everything together. Putting players literally in the driver's seat makes everything from the visuals, to the sounds and even the crashes all the more impactful.

Featuring options such as adding cash, the ability to win races quickly, instantly adding XP and even unlocking events instantly, the trainer opens up a ton of options for players looking to get the most out of their Shift experience.

Need for Speed: SHIFT 2

It seems like it's only been a few months since I made my reservations for a few precious hours of Xbox 360 time (one quickly learns to plan ahead for these things when there's an overly possessive teenager in the house) in order to play a new Need For...

Shift 2 is not quite a full-realism simulator, but it's not exactly an arcade game either. The Xbox controller makes precise control difficult at best, but configuration settings and driving aids can help tame the unruly driving quirks. The...

Need for Speed: Shift

The need to own this game has finally returned. The Need for Speed series has gone through many incarnations over the years. The one thing that has felt missing from...

Gorgeous visuals ; Great sense of speed ; Excellent balance ; Dashboard camera

Online feels minimal ; Career mode could use more substance

Need for Speed: Shift - Review

Electronic Arts is at it again. The Need for Speed franchise has seemingly stalled the past few years with titles that weren't up to snuff such as Need for Speed: Pro Street, NFS: Undercover and NFS: Carbon. Lacking revolutionary features and...

There’s also the ability to swap color palettes, change rims, and upgrade the cockpit of their car. While it isn’t as advanced as it was in the past in titles, the customization elements that are presented are more than fine. When push came to shove,...

Need for Speed Shift Review

In another time, the Need for Speed series was one of the highlight racing series of its time. With its street racing and cop chases, it took us to another world. However, it was only a matter of time before the series began to fall back in the pack...

With the disappearance of street style racing and night time fun, Need for Speed Shift still represents a good entry in the series. Purists of the series might take the new turn a little harder then others. Despite that, Shift is one game that if...

Need for Speed: Shift

Racing games come in a number of flavors, from arcade style kart racers (Mario Kart) to the speedy combat and destruction (Burnout) to futuristic style of vehicles (Wipeout) to simulations (Gran Turismo). These are just a few of the styles, so when a...

Addictively fun ; Real sense of speed

Not as deep into the simulation as it wants to be ; Only 8 players online ; Progression is much more arcade than the realism the game wants

Its a good direction for the franchise and a step in the right direction. EA should take the Need for Speed franchise further in this direction and start up a new one for the more arcade style of racing.

Need For Speed: Shift

The Need for Speed series has always styled itself on the seedier side of racing, with underground races, plenty of cops and enough customisation for you to pimp your car to the sun and back (though sadly no fluffy dice). The latest instalment has...

This game is just not good enough, especially when compared to the titles it so desperately wants to be. The Need for Speed series has always been about street racing and car modifications so this apparent leap into ‘legitimate' racing is something of...

Need for Speed: Shift PC Review

The Need for Speed games started out on the PC, and after a grueling yearly cycle for the last five-plus years and sales starting to dwindle, EA decided it was time to change up one of their longest-running franchises. They've split everything up into...

Need for Speed: Shift fills an interesting niche for a gamer looking for a light-hearted action racer masquerading as something serious. It fits right in between Forza and Burnout, and it's got visuals that, for the most part, are just as good. But...

Need for Speed: Shift Review for the XBOX360

The racer that swings both ways.

Excellent arcade/sim balance; Best cockpit view in the genre; Customizable controls, AI, and assists

Doofy damage modeling; Lack of online collision penalties; No local multiplayer
